Brentford Sunday Social Market 28th September 11am – 4pm, Market Place, Hounslow FoodBox Donation Point.

This year Harvest Festival 2025 falls on the 5th of October, however the nearest date we can get to that for a Sunday Social Market collection is the 28th of September 11am – 4pm.

So if you’re popping down to the market it would be great if you could help Hounslow FoodBox by contributing any of the items in the list below to the collection point in the kids activities area.

The kids will be apple bobbing, colouring leaf window stickers, face painting and hair braiding and much more and will be happy to receive your donations.

The items we are most in need of this month:

• Dry lentils and pulses
• Tinned soups
• Pasta sauces
• Tinned chickpeas and kidney beans
• Biscuits
• Tinned tomatoes
• Instant coffee jars / Teabags / Sugar
• Tinned ham / Corned beef
• Rice pudding

Brentford Begins the Search for Our Best Amateur Pianists at ‘Piano on the Park’

Calling all amateur pianists—of all ages and styles! You’re invited to perform at Piano on the Park in Watermans Park this August. Whether you’re into classical favourites, chart hits, original compositions, or accompanying yourself (or someone else) with vocals, we want to hear your music.

Our aim is to celebrate the musical talent and personal stories of Brentford’s amateur pianists—showcasing a rich mix of ages, backgrounds, and playing styles. So whether you’re more Elton John, Lang Lang, or Alicia Keys, this is your moment to shine.

When: August 16

Time: From midday onwards

Where: Watermans Park

How: It’s informal—just come along and play!

Prizes: Tickets for the London Piano Festival in October, plus from the Musical Museum a free family ticket and a branded teddy bear in a younger category and pairs of complimentary ticket for other winners.

HERE WE GO, GET READY FOR A DAY FILLED WITH FAB FESTIVE FUN AT THE BRENTFORD CHRISTMAS MARKET – SUNDAY DECEMBER 15, 11AM – 5PM
This year’s annual Brentford Christmas Market will be taking place on Sunday 15th December 2024, from 11am - 5pm, offering an exciting day of festive fun for all the family and it’ll be bigger and better! The seasonal celebration will be hosted by Brentford Voice, The Brentford Project, John’s & Co, and Trash and Treasure and will take place across three locations around Brentford High Street – Market Place, Bradshaw Yard and Workhouse Dock.
There’ll be over 40 stallholders for you to explore, from Christmas crafts and gifts to fabulous food and drink, PLUS a Christmas Car Boot Sale to boot!
Alongside the market stalls, there’ll be children’s activities throughout the day including wreath making, face painting, hair braiding and an opportunity to meet Santa in his Grotto, AND his reindeers. On top of all the delicious food and shopping, we also have the fabulous line up of musical entertainment throughout the day as follows -

Brentford’s Disused Railway Embankment – Invitation to a Community Meeting

We would be delighted if you would come along to a community meeting at 6.30 p.m. on 18th November 2024 in the Holiday Inn, Commerce Road.

You will hear of progress with the project during the past few months and proposals for the next steps. Above all, this project belongs to the community so we would like to learn about any concerns and suggestions that you may have, and how the project should be taken forward in a way that reflects your views. For example, there will be many opportunities for voluntary work, and this may be best managed through the formation of a "Friends of the Beeline" group.

There is no need for you to do anything more at this stage, but if you have any advance questions or comments, please let us know via an email to [email protected]
