My name is Seema and I love crafting. I started out painting candles but that has now grown into so many different items. From papercuts to personalised photo frames, wooden decorations to items made from clay. :)

Watch me make a Raksha Bandhan puja plate. This is at 5 times the speed so it actually took me about 11-12 minutes. It used to take so much longer as I wasn't sure on the placing before but now it comes like second nature to me. The little pots are stuck on after it has dried fully and been sanded.

A simple guide to making hanging decorations or tags from air dry clay.
*Start by kneading the clay. This helps warm it up and helps to push out any air bubbles that may be in the clay.
*Then roll out your clay as evenly as possible. Use guides or, like me, use something like chopsticks. Turn the clay over a few times inbetween rolling to ensure it is even all over. I like to use a non stick mat to roll out on.
*Cut out your shapes. You can use cutters, a blunt knife. Anything you have. Then just use something to make small holes at the top. I use a straw.
*Smooth over the edges a little with a damp finger and then leave to dry on a falt surface.
*Leave to dry for atleast 24 hours. Depending on temperature, humidity etc, it can take more time. If you want to prevent warping, turn over the pieces every few hours to ensure even drying.
*Then sand the edges and decorate! You can paint them, use pens, decoupage with napkins. The possibilities are many!
