Dozens of young people will be selling school-grown fruit and veg at Chapel Market soon as part of by - a brilliant programme teaching young people where food comes from and how to prepare it.

All the ££ raised on Market Day will support food education projects at schools.

It's a beautiful sunny day . Perfect weather for a wander to puck up some shopping and a bite to eat. We just scored some beautiful 24 month aged comte at a bargain price from Le Petit Village Deli (far cheaper and higer qulaity than you'll find in a supermarket, trust us!). There's plenty more to see, do and buy in the street so pop along and grab yourself some bargains for the weekend.

FREE Chapel Market stall and business support for Refugee Entrepreneurs on March 29th 2025 - apply by February 10th!

Chapel Market in Islington is offering entrepreneurs from refugee backgrounds the opportunity to trade for a day, for free, at one of the oldest and most vibrant markets in London!

Not only that, business support and mentoring will be provided before the day, to help entrepreneurs succeed.

Entrepreneurs selling products such as food, crafts, clothing, services or innovative products, are warmly invited to apply for one of these free spaces.

Spaces are limited - apply today!

It's time to vote for your favourite market trader of the year again, in the 2024 Market Trader of the Year competition!

Market Trader of the Year awards give people a chance to celebrate their favourite local businesses and nominate a trader who goes the extra mile for their customers.

There are two categories: ‘Trader of the year’ and ‘Street food trader of the year’. The winning traders will receive £250 off their stall rent.

Voters can email a nomination to [email protected] with the name of the trader and the market they operate in, as well as the reason why they should win.

(Anyone without access to email can post their nomination to Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, N1 2UD, addressed to Parris Langridge)

The Market Trader of the Year competition is open to traders directly licensed by Islington Council. For example, traders at Camden Passage, Chapel Market, Exmouth Market and Whitecross Street – as well as street traders found across the borough. Look out for their Islington Council stall card.

The competition closes at midnight at the end of Sunday 1 December. The winners will be announced at the council’s festive event at Chapel Market on Saturday 7 December.
