For Sale: Fine Late 19th-Century Ottoman Kilij Sword

A lovely Ottoman sword preserved in excellent condition. This piece features a silver crossguard and fittings, with traces of the original gold wash still visible on some elements. The hilt is fitted with beautifully crafted rhino horn grips, complemented by a slender Kilij-style blade of elegant form.

Dating to the late 19th century, this is a fine example of Ottoman craftsmanship and would make an impressive addition to any collection of antique arms and militaria.

Condition: Well preserved, with light age-related wear consistent with its period and evidence of original gilding remaining on parts of the mounts.

For sale. Interesting gauntlet sword, Pata. This is an unusual example where the hand protection is made in a similar way to splinter armour. Overall good condition, unusual item dating to the 19th century in my opinion.

or sale, Indian sword, Firangi, this example of massive proportions and substantial weight combines a very rare form of hilt popular in the 16th and 17th century North India. The blade on one side marked with Bikaner armour inventory number. There is a number of similar Hilted weapons preserved in that location.
Very unique item, very scarce on the market.

For sale, this lovely Tulwar, possibly South Indian. It’s fitted with a very handsome 3 fuller steel blade in great condition.
The grip is made of iron and it seems to be plated with what looks like silver, some losses but generally intact. The sword feels good in hand, very manoeuverable for Fast swift cuts.
In my opinion, it dates to the 18th century.

Absolutely fabulous Indian sword, this massive specimen comes from north India, Bikaner armoury in Rajasthan and dates back to the 18th century or earlier. When held in hand, you can really feel its presence. Please note last two photos of very similar pieces from the armoury.

For sale, two nice Indian swords, first is a Shamshir type Tulwar, it features a heavy blade with a good curvature and a copper guilt grip with chiselled decoration. in my opinion dating to 18 -19th century from North India or Sind.
Second is a very unusual Tulwar with rarely seen triple knuckle guard. this sword probably dates to the 18th century and originates from South India. both items available and sold together.

I am happy to share with you this very unusual all plain steel rapier, in my opinion South Indian, dating to the 18th century. It features very slender grip with a birds head pommel possibly a peacock or a parrot and a very rarely seen hooded hand guard. More photos to come in my next post.

Krakow, Poland. Treasures of the east exhibition at the Wawel castle. Great trip, really enjoyed my visit. Krakow is an absolute must if you are looking for treasures, history and absolutely unique atmosphere in this historic mediaeval city.
