There is an unmistakable, spiritual warmth that only a traditional clay drum can bring to devotional music. Crafted with respect for heritage and an eye for modern durability, the JAS Clay Terracotta Khol is built to ground your kirtan and daily practice. 🎶

Why musicians choose the JAS Clay Khol:

✅Authentic Clay Shell: Made from specially selected, well-seasoned terracotta clay to deliver that deep, traditional resonance and iconic "earthy" bass.

✅Dual-Headed Dynamics: Features a small treble head for crisp, high-pitched slaps and a larger bass head for a rich, booming low end.

✅Premium Leather Layering: The heads are bound with high-quality leather straps, ensuring stable tension and effortless tuning adjustments.

✅Workshop Approved: Like all our instruments, each Khol is hand-checked and professionally set up in our London workshop before it reaches your hands so it feels "right" from the very first touch.

Choosing a South Asian instrument is a deeply personal journey. It’s about finding an instrument with heart, character, and real staying power.

That is why we never just ship a box straight from a warehouse.

Every single instrument goes through our London workshop first. Our master technicians personally handle:

✅ Rigorous Inspection: Checking structural integrity and wood seasoning.
✅ Precision Tuning: Ensuring perfect intonation so it’s concert-ready.
✅ Custom Setup: Adjusting the action and alignment so it feels "right" from your very first touch.

We respect the "old soul" and cultural heritage of these instruments, but we also ensure they have the modern backbone needed for your everyday practice and performances.

📍 Come feel the quality for yourself.

We were honoured to open our doors on Southall Broadway to host the kickoff for the Southall Public Arts Project. 🤍
There is something special about seeing our space become a hub for the community to connect through music and history. Led by the talented Shirin, participants explored the deep relationship between sound, shape, and colour - drawing direct inspiration from the rich musical heritage of Southall.

This was the first in a vital series of workshops that will eventually shape a final public design for our neighborhood.
Being part of a project that weaves culture and creativity into the lives of the people we serve is exactly why we love being a part of this community.
