Next Thursday, 20th November, 7.30pm, we welcome artist and master printer Gary Schneider, whose close collaboration with photographer and friend Peter Hujar played a crucial role in shaping the way Hujar’s work is seen today. Schneider’s sensitive and meticulous printing approach helped preserve the depth and emotional intensity that define Hujar’s portraits and landscapes. His contribution has ensured that Peter Hujar’s photographs continue to resonate, allowing new audiences to encounter the work in forms that remain faithful to the artist’s intent.

Gary will be joined in conversation by writer, friend, and forthcoming Peter Hujar biographer John Douglas Millar.
Together Gary and John curated the exhibition Peter Hujar: Eyes Open in the Dark, Raven Row, 2025
The exhibition will open at the Bundeskunsthalle, Bonn, Germany, on February 27, 2026.

Tomorrow marks 50 years since the death of Pier Paolo Pasolini — Italian poet, novelist, filmmaker, and one of the most incisive critics of modern life.

Although Pasolini wrote in the mid-20th century, his voice still cuts sharply through our age of consumerism, media noise, and cultural erasure. Through his writings and films he saw and celebrated the fragile beauty of the marginalized, and warned of the forces determined to silence them.

His reflections on mass culture, capitalism, fascism and the erosion of genuine individuality read like commentary on 2025, unsettling, necessary, and more prescient than ever.

Pasolini was murdered in Ostia, November 2nd, 1975.
To commemorate 50 years since his untimely death, we have put together a display of books and material by and about Pier Paolo Pasolini.

The display will remain in our window until 12/11/25.

A deeply personal work of humor, commentary, and reflection, The Royal We follows Bottum’s early life in a now unrecognisable Los Angeles, the era of bicycle messengers, punk rock, street witches, wheatgrass and rebellion. Growing up gay with no role models, relocating to San Francisco, where he formed the band Faith No More, with which he went on to tour the world relentlessly, surviving he**in addiction and the plight of AIDS, there’s a lot to unpack!

There are personal tales of Kurt and Courtney, Guns N’ Roses,
and recaps of gold records and arena rock, but it’s the testimonies of tragedy, addiction, and a deeply loving recollection of a remarkable scene that make book unique and fascinating read.

Next Wednesday, 30th October at 19.30, author will be joining us to read from (and sign copies of✍️) his second novel Ripcord published by . Nate will be joined in conversation with Pilot Press publisher

In Ripcord, Lippens continues his meditations on escape and connection, class, s*x and intimacy. Stuck in Milwaukee, the narrator cobbles together a living by bartending and catering weddings, enmeshed in a semi-affair with a younger married man. Cruising apps while tallying his youthful romantic failures, he fantasizes about disappearance but finds both solace and frustration in his friendships with Charlie, an aging punk who was prominent in the 1990s Chicago queercore scene, and Greer, a painter who never broke through but continues making work.

Based in Janesville, Wisconsin, Nate Lippens is the author of the novel My Dead Book, also published by Pilot Press in 2022, a finalist for the Republic of Consciousness Prize. His fiction has appeared in the anthologies Little Birds (2021), Responses to Derek Jarman’s Blue (2022), and Pathetic Literature, edited by Eileen Myles (2022)
