Fine Art Masters students from Central Saint Martins had their opening drinks last night at the Fourth Portal, showing a selection of work they will exhibit for their final degree show in Kings Cross in June. All provided fascinating background interviews.
In our ongoing exploration into challenging the stranglehold of social media, like Facebook-Mata, we sought to interview and update the Fourth Portal website live as the event happened.
It was a fascinating experiment. People in the room, mainly young and tech-savvy, were impressed seeing their interviews appearing soon after completion on a non-social media outlet.
Several challenges were identified with the most striking being how iCloud - videos recorded via an Apple iPhone Pro 14 - struggled to transfer the data from the phone to the Macbook for uploading. Other issues discovered will be written up as a blog post to follow. Meanwhile, check the link and see how we are getting along with the updates, less than 12 hours since the event.
For The Sick And Poor MA Fine Art students take over Fourth Portal for a compelling group exhibition of performance, sculpture, painting, sound and video crafted by eight emerging artists from Central Saint Martins in London, part of the University of the Arts London.
