Independent Record Store offers new vinyl across genres within converted warehouse space that is Mar

It’s been an another BIG week at the shop, on Thursday we hosted a very fun party to celebrate the launch of one of the best compilations of 2026 so far 🥥🔥

‘Various - Coconut Dreams - Vol 1” , A huge thanks to Danny Skyrager and Gareth MR BONGO for DJ duties and the tropical bangers!

Danny kindly signed copies of his comp, but we’re down to the last handful - these are available in-store and online but be quick!

On the same day we also hosted a full house for the Dexys & Dexys Midnight Runners listening party for their new album LOVE, thanks to everyone who attended especially Sean Read from the band!!! We still have some limited edition, exclusive goodie bags leftover - which include a signed bookmark, pin badges, tote bag, posters, and postcards , free with any purchase of the limited yellow vinyl edition - LOVE is produced by the great DavidHolmes1969 and released through Heavenly Recordings - A real masterpiece and Dexy’s fans will not be disappointed!

Finally on Wednesday it was ‘Plantasia’ day here at the shop - what an evening! Thanks to those who came down and even brought their plant friends! The best plant shop in town Plantfull blew our minds with their pop-up shop and bespoke plant installations for the night, thank you 💚

Sadly some of 50th anniversary ‘Plantasia” merch has now sold out BUT we still have limited t-shirts and copies of the limited Green vinyl plus the dinked edition leftover..

We’re really excited to team up with 細野晴臣 House of Haruomi Hosono and Ghostly International once again to bring TWO very special listening parties ahead of Haruomi Hosono’s Yours Sincerely’, his brand-new album and first in 7 years.

The two exclusive listening sessions will be held at Stranger Than Paradise on Wednesday, 9th September, from the following times✨

Damon - Song Of A Gypsy

Easily regarded as one of the finest privately-pressed psychedelic rock records,from the late 1960s 🔥
A wonderful blend of psychedelic rock, Eastern influence and mystical songwriting. Floating Arabic melodies, finger cymbals, hand percussion, shimmering fuzz guitar and Damon The Gypsy’s haunting vocals give the record a deeply spiritual feel, ..”with songs that explore love, loss and the search for meaning.”

Recorded with guitarist Charlie Carey and friends, it was privately issued on Damon’s Ankh label in a few hundred copies across two sleeve variations: a single white cover and a black gatefold leather-textured edition. Rediscovered decades later by collectors Veronica Breth and Paul Major, it later saw reissues from Shadoks, Guerssen Records and Now-Again. Damon passed away in 2016.

We welcome shop favourite Skyrager to the decks to celebrate the release of his first compilation for MR BONGO , ‘Coconut Dreams Volume 1.’
Known to many as one half of the illustrious Psychemagik , Danny McLewin has spent decades releasing acclaimed original productions, cherished compilations and touring the world DJing. A collector at heart, he’s been unearthing hidden gems in record shops and private collections everywhere he goes. With a taste second to none, he is no stranger to curating a compilation. Psychemagik’s Magik series and his Traces of Illusion comp under the Skyrager alias are all must-haves for any collection. Coconut Dreams is an embodiment of everything Skyrager is all about - a deep-diving, soft-focused drift that sweeps you up to a place far, far away.
