Too many tool reviews stay in the workshop.
This is how it behaves on an actual flooring job.
Real job. Real test. Real difference.

Testing how close the 7” Eibenstock EBS 180 H grinder can actually get to the wall using two different grinding discs on flooring adhesive residues.

• Standard diamond cup wheel = flush edge grinding
• PCD disc = stops around 7mm from the wall

That tiny gap matters more than people think when you’re preparing subfloors for vinyl flooring, LVT, or resin systems.
The right setup changes the finish, the speed, and sometimes whether you need a second tool at all.

Real-world tool testing always tells the truth faster than specifications do.
Right after a good vinyl uplift, I started this adhesive removal job using a standard diamond disc on the 7” Eibenstock grinder. It gave it a try… but old adhesive residues need the correct setup, not just more persistence.

Swapped over to the PCD disc and the difference was immediate.
Cleaner removal, more bite, less fighting the floor but have to admit it was insanely loud

A good reminder that in floor preparation, the machine is only part of the equation.
The right disc for the right material changes everything.
