Mildly mortifying to share this as it feels perilously close to showing off, but also didn’t want not to thank the lovely people involved.

I know I’m forever posting random bits of the cottage and garden on Stories, but that’s mostly just me feeding an obsessive need to take photos - and posting them somehow makes it feel less futile. I also like to tell myself it might one day serve as a gardening record, should I ever become that organised…

Anyway, our house has somehow made its way into a feature in Period Living which feels surreal and very grown up! So mostly posting because I wanted to properly credit and thank the wonderful team behind it: writer and stylist .roberton and for making it look far more serene and coherent than it usually does and to for the lovely feature.

Wishing you all a lovely Bank Holiday weekend - and while you’re all out enjoying the sunshine and pub gardens, please keep a tiny thought for me and my rather demanding patient… freshly discharged from hospital this morning and already proving to be high maintenance😊

🌷BARNS OPENING🌷
I’m of course nowhere near ready to be taking photos, but at least I have started unpacking treasures from my recent French and Italian trip and am far too impatient for it all to look beautiful so had to do some quick snaps trying unsuccessfully - I’ve just spotted - to avoid bubblewrap and the scissors(!) to give those of you who didn’t come last year, a bit of an idea of what will be in store for you in the Lower Barn (one of three)when we open the barns on:

Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, wishing you a wonderful Christmastime 🕊️🎄
I haven’t walked as far as I did today for a long time, so for once I’m aiming to turn off my light before midnight. Still a few brussels to behead and potatoes to peel but far fewer than usual - which feels like a Christmas miracle in itself!

Grateful for tired legs, glowing skies and the endlessly beautiful Norfolk light. Feeling quietly festive✨

I’ve no idea how these things happen, but I’m extremely grateful to all the new followers that have appeared as if by magic, on my phone in the last few days.
Hello and welcome to you all 😊. And while I have your attention, I feel I should let you know about my barns sale happening on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th April next year where you’ll find antiques, vintage, art, furniture, garden ware, jewellery, clothing, textiles, teas, coffees, cakes and more - all to be found in three former barns. Apparently because of the motorways, I’m very easy to get to for a lot of you and if you’re further away, it may be worth thinking of staying the night nearby as we are surrounded by beautiful countryside, lovely pubs and pretty old towns and only ten minutes from a city (Guildford) for shopping! Last year people came as far as the US, Germany and France. April’s obviously quiet on the antique/art/clothing front in the rest of the world😄They all seemed to have a lovely time (of course they might have just been being polite..)
If you’d like to come, please DM me for my address. Plenty of time, but it’s always good to plan ahead I tell myself often.

A really big thank you to Lucy and Sophie for putting on a beautiful and very busy fair this weekend. I haven’t been doing so many fairs and had started to doubt that I could put on a good show. Anyway I loved it! I was surrounded by beauty and friendly faces and enjoyed every minute talking to so many people with similar passions to my own. It was a joyous weekend doing what I love most. Selling (and just a little buying😬) beautiful things.
So to buyers, browsers, chatterers, sellers with beautiful stalls (quite a few of them!!) and to my helper Teresa, thank you so very much🙏Actually even the OM deserves some thanks while I’m gushing😄

Right, I’m on the final straight and have started to pack some boxes, the idea being that I check each item is priced as I go because the ‘just pricing’ part of the admin became tiresome. However, that idea soon fell by the wayside so of course they’ll be plenty to do on set up day. Dammit.
fair is always stunning with so much beauty to see so there’s a lot of pressure not to let the side down 😬
There are a lot of things I’m going to find hard to sell, but so far I’ve remained strong and have restrained myself from delving back into a box to retrieve anything 😇
If you’re within a five hundred mile radius of Cowdray Polo fields in Sussex this Friday and Saturday, do yourself a favour and come and spend a lovely day (or two) - and you never know you may also be able to tick some presents off your Christmas list as well as enjoying some aesthetic nourishment for the soul❤️

In just under two weeks, Friday 7th and Saturday 8th November, I’m taking part in the beautiful at Cowdray, Sussex. It will be full of wonderful exhibitors selling decorative antiques, furniture, art, vintage, clothing, jewellery, lifestyle products, Christmas gifts and much more. There will also be coffee and food aplenty to keep you fuelled throughout your day!
I am beginning to price the gorgeous pieces I’ve kept aside especially, but knowing me I will still be faffing and pricing right up until the doors open!
If I was you, I’d make a special effort to get there..Come rain or shine it’s always a magical show✨✨
