There’s More to Our Goose Than Meets the Eye

When we developed the Janitorial Express logo, we wanted it to represent more than simply the products we sell.

Geese are highly social, loyal and protective of their group. They fly in formation, taking turns at the front—and if one becomes sick or injured, others will drop back to stay with it.

That reflected the sort of business we wanted Janitorial Express to be: people working together, sharing responsibility and supporting one another.
The goose was deliberately created in shades of green, with wings that also resemble leaves. This represented our concern for the environment and our belief that the cleaning and hygiene industry should continually look for more sustainable ways of working.

The design itself was constructed from a series of interlocking circles, producing the simple shape that has since become such a familiar part of our identity.
As the original designers rather neatly put it:

“We’re geese. We fly in formation—and we make lots of noise!”

Over time, our goose has become known as Gerry and is now firmly part of the Janitorial Express family.

Looking back, it is interesting to see how much thought went into creating something that now feels as though it has always been there.
