๐ŸŒผ Taking a Short Break ๐ŸŒผ
After a wonderfully busy few months, our flower farmer and florist, Beth, is taking a break for the next couple of weeks to rest and recharge.

That means there wonโ€™t be any fresh flower bunches for a short while, but donโ€™t worryโ€”weโ€™ve been busy making up a lovely collection of dried flower bunches to tide us over. Theyโ€™re the perfect flowers for a summer heatwave: no wilting, no watering, just months (or even years!) of colour and joy.

Youโ€™ll still be able to find us at Boston Manor Farmersโ€™ Market this Saturday (8th August, 9.30amโ€“2.30pm), where weโ€™ll have our dried flower bunches and posies alongside a selection of delicious farm veg. And the Horsenden Farm Shop will be running as usual too (Saturdays, 10amโ€“12.30pm), so you can still pick up an everlasting bunch alongside your favourite farm produce.

When Beth is back, weโ€™re hoping to be in the middle of a dahlia extravaganza. If all goes to plan theyโ€™ll be bursting into bloom, filling our bunches with the glorious colours of late summer. Weโ€™re keeping everything crossed that they arrive as this spell of extreme weather comes to an end (rain would certainly be welcome!). What better way to celebrate the changing of the season than a dahlia explosion!

Last weekend we were back at Boston Manor Farmersโ€™ Market โ€“ and with no beer this time, the flowers were flying solo!

It was a brilliant morning and a wonderful opportunity to introduce Horsenden to people who didnโ€™t yet know weโ€™re right on their doorstep. We loved chatting about what we do, from our seasonal, British-grown flowers and nature-friendly growing methods to the wider work of the farm and our volunteering opportunities.

It was also lovely to showcase our wedding flowers and bespoke bouquet service. Weโ€™re delighted to have received so many enquiries for 2027 weddings already, and itโ€™s always a privilege to talk with couples about creating flowers that celebrate the season and support local, sustainable growing.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall. It was especially lovely to meet so many of you who had discovered us through Instagram and wanted to come and say hello in person!

๐Ÿค A little glimpse into last weekendโ€™s wedding...

Last Saturday we were incredibly proud to deliver another beautiful wedding flower order โ€“ despite the heatwave!

Thereโ€™s something really special about knowing our flowers will become part of someoneโ€™s wedding day. Itโ€™s an absolute privilege to play even a small role in such an important life event.

This wedding featured handmade dried flower crowns, a bridal bouquet bursting with seasonal British-grown blooms, bud vases for the reception tables, and vintage teacups planted with delicate summer flowers. Everything was carefully designed around the coupleโ€™s colour palette of whites, creams, blues and soft oranges, while celebrating what is naturally flourishing at this time of year. The flowers were wonderfully scented too, with lavender, garden roses and sweet peas bringing their fragrance to the festivities.

The soaring temperatures certainly made things more challenging, but every stem was hand-picked just days before the wedding to ensure the flowers were as fresh and beautiful as possible.

One of the things we love most about working with seasonal flowers is that no two weddings are ever the same. Each one reflects the time of year, the character of the flowers, and the couple themselves.

Every Friday morning, our flower trolley is filled with whatever is looking its absolute best in the field that week. No imports, no air miles, no flowers flown halfway around the world โ€“ just freshly picked, seasonal British blooms harvested only hours before theyโ€™re arranged.

This weekโ€™s harvest is overflowing with fragrant snapdragons, delicate yarrow, statice, cosmos and armfuls of beautiful foliage, all grown here at Horsenden Farm.

The best part? Every bunch sold helps support our community farm, wildlife-friendly growing and the educational work we do on site. So when you take home a bouquet, youโ€™re supporting much more than flowers.

Our flowers are available from the Farm Shop every Saturday morning, and from our from our self-serve flower shed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We also create bespoke gift bouquets to order, as well as weddings and special occasions throughout the season.

Last weekendโ€™s Solstice Festival was full of magical moments, but one of our favourites had to be seeing so many people wearing our flower crowns as they processed up the hill to watch the sun set over Horsenden. ๐ŸŒžโœจ

The flowers were grown here at Horsenden Farm last summer, carefully harvested at their peak, naturally dried, and then lovingly crafted by our wonderful volunteer team into crowns to celebrate the longest day of the year. It felt rather fitting that flowers grown under last yearโ€™s summer sun returned to honour this yearโ€™s solstice.

We were blown away by the response, they completely sold out, and it was wonderful to see them become part of such a special community celebration.

If youโ€™d like to create something similar, we also run bespoke flower crown workshops for hen parties, wedding celebrations, and corporate away days. Theyโ€™re a relaxed, creative way to spend time together while making something beautiful.
