Lindfield day. What a scorcher! Followed by an early evening dog walk when things had cooled down at bit… and back to mum’s bloomin’ garden.

How did you cope with the bank holiday heat?

We hopped on an air conditioned train and went looking for shade in the forest.

Basil found a muddy pond for a cooling dip. Most unlike him.

We were soaked after the ferry ride to the Frioul island. It was great fun sitting up front but the spray got a bit much. 😂

Headscarves for the Mistral wind - which dried us off quickly. And a PACMAT Carry All for swim stuff and picnic.

So lovely to spend time exploring and being shown around by this one.

Our third day in Marseille was more relaxed. Starting with a swim at the beach (for some)… then heading back to the city for a delicious vegan lunch under the shade of the trees. There are lots of vegetarian and vegan cafes.

Followed by a visit to the community cycle shop. Passing the giraffe library then walking out to Friche la Belle de Mai - an old to***co factory turned cultural centre.

Heading back to the train station we climbed the steps and caught our bus home.

What a city.

Watching the sun go down behind the island we had visited earlier in the day, Marseille.
