Our November Open Call is now open to artists based in London or elsewhere in the UK who are able to travel to our Brick Lane space for installation.

This month at ATIKA Art Space, we’re excited to showcase the work of Kenoly Mbele Leprince.

Kenoly is a London-based textile artist of Congolese heritage, specialising in weave. Her practice explores identity, connection and storytelling through colour, texture and complex patterns.

‘Put Your Arms Around Me’ explores comfort, togetherness and belonging through a large-scale woven piece imagined as an embrace — creating a sense of warmth and connection, whether shared with loved ones or experienced alone.

Born from the hardcore punk scene, straight edge turned abstinence into an identity - and eventually a visual language of its own.

From the iconic X to band tees, oversized hoodies, denim, workwear and skate-inspired silhouettes, the scene developed a look that was raw, practical and unapologetically anti-mainstream.

From the US hardcore scene to the UK’s North East, Yorkshire and beyond, straight edge left its mark not just on music, but on youth culture and fashion.
