Honestly, I went into M&S ready to pick everything apart, because you know I cannot just shop like a normal person. Then I started finding pieces I would actually buy and thought “Hang on, why is this so good?”
Tell me, would you trust M&S for quality or do you still think fast fashion is all a bit rubbish?

I adore shopping small brands but I do not automatically assume they have designed everything they sell (Especially the ones you find on Amazon or in those little beach shops in Ibiza where you just feel like you want everything)

Some make their own clothes while others select finished styles from suppliers and just stick on their own label. So if you have wondered how seemingly every influencer suddenly has their own clothing label... did you really think they designed everything themselves?

I might still buy it if I loved it. But if I am spending more because I think I have found something original from a small designer, then finding the same dress on 5 other websites would spoil it a bit for me.

Would you still buy the garment if you loved it or would that take away the appeal?

M&S is actually one of my favourite fast fashion shops at the moment (believe it or not). It’s one of those places where you can still find amazing quality for a decent price.
But you know me, I like to find the ugly duckling first. Don’t worry, the next video is all about the pieces I would totally spend my money on. So stay tuned.

I’ve ruined enough beautiful natural-fibre clothes to know that “natural” is not a personality reference. Some shrank, some stretched and some became an all-you-can-eat buffet for those moths with expensive taste. I still love silk, cotton and wool but now I judge the whole garment instead of letting one word on the label seduce me.

Do you automatically trust clothes more when they’re made from natural fibres or are you a little suspicious fashionista who doesn’t trust anyone or anything?

I went into The Editor’s Market genuinely excited, because I thought I had found a shop with good quality basics. I did find one lovely dress, but the rest was a bit of a plot twist. Maybe I’m fussy, but surely wanting neat seams is not asking for haute couture?

And I think that some “looks expensive” advice is just teaching us to recognise a rich-looking costume. I am sorry (but not sorry):
looking like you own the company doesn’t mean someone sewed your blazer properly.
