Our annual exhibitions blog has officially become a cherished tradition. After the whirlwind of very hot summer fairs and markets, this is the moment we look forward to. It's time to press pause, step away from the studio, and head out to explore the incredible wealth of creativity on display in London and beyond.

For our community of artists and makers, these gallery visits are so much more than a day out. They are essential. Immersing ourselves in curation, colour, and concept provides a vital mental break as well as inspiring future work.

We hope you enjoy this year's recommendations which include:

⭐️Marilyn Monroe at The National Portrait Gallery
⭐️Anish Kapoor at The Hayward Gallery
⭐️Frida Kahlo at Tate Britain
⭐️Schiaparelli at the V&A
⭐️The RA Summer Exhibition
⭐️Nina Hamnett permanent display at Tate Britain. Nina's the great aunt of MHC founder Rachael ❤️

St James Square in Muswell Hill saw a gathering yesterday of artists, designers and makers with such a great mix of work. It was a happy day of meeting customers old and new and the makers catch up on news, share ideas and build a community.

A big thanks to everyone who hung around in the heat to shop at the fair. Every sale means the world 🙏

Last minute addition to our Summer Makers Fair TOMORROW in St James Square, Muswell Hill is Crouch End based Virle Paterson.

Come and shop for one of Virle's lovely stained glass birds like this beautiful kingfisher. If you're lucky you can sometimes see kingfishers fly over the Kenwood Ladies Pond. Such an eye-catching little bird.

Virle will be in St James Square, Muswell Hill on Saturday from 10.30am-5.00pm.

After life events put Michele Wyckoff Smith Jewellery on divert, we're so happy to have her back in her rightful home at our Summer Makers Fair this Saturday in St James Square, Muswell Hill.

Muswell Hill based Michele specialises in contemporary bold, hand-crafted gold and silver jewellery. Her signature style is influenced by organic shapes, smooth curves, and weathered surfaces found in nature, such as beach pebbles or rusted metals.

If you're already a happy Wyckoff Smith customer, there is always another piece to add to your collection. If it's your first time, Michele will be happy to inspire you!

Come and see us on Saturday 27 June - 10.30am-5.00pm.

Muswell Hill artist Ros Papershades' large shades have been a big hit at recent summer markets. A great way to add art to your home whilst lighting up a room. They work on standard lamps, large table lamps and ceiling lights. Come and check them out at this Saturday's Summer Makers Fair in St James Square, Muswell Hill. We'll be there from 10.30am-5.00pm by Planet Organic and opposite St James Church.
