Check three things: does your skin feel sore; are you already using a scrub, acid or retinol; and what do those labels say about combining them?

Write down your exfoliating steps and the days you use them. Dry flakes are not a cue to scrub harder. If soreness lasts, ask a pharmacist or GP.

• Beauty Serum, 30 ml: a light layer of moisture before cream.
• Imperial Eye Gel, 15 ml: a cool, hydrated feel around the eyes.
