Most ex-display furniture is brand new. It’s been sat on briefly, photographed in good light, and demonstrated to a few customers. Then a new collection arrives, and the perfectly good sofa has to leave.

Sunday hello from Martyna, founder of Lagom Hem.

I grew up in Poland in a household where nothing was thrown away. Broken chair? Fix it. Faded lampshade? Repaint it. The most beautiful piece of furniture I’ve ever sat at was my grandmother’s kitchen table - three generations of dinners, every scratch a story.

Lagom Hem is, in many ways, that table at a national scale. A nation of people who’d happily give a piece of furniture a second life if there was somewhere good to find them.
