I should probably keep this to myself.
Every person I teach to play these bowls is, on paper, one less reason to need my shop.
Maybe. But I've stopped seeing it that way.
For years I thought the bowls were mine... brought back from the mountains one at a time, learned slowly, kept close.
Then people started asking not to buy them, but to use them. To sit beside someone, strike a bowl, and hold the sound while that person finally let go.
The first time I watched a student do that, like really do it, someone else breathing slower because of them... something just clicked. This was never meant to stay mine. It was meant to be passed on.
So no, teaching isn't bad for business. It is the business.
Next course is January! Small group, all instruments provided, no experience needed. 🤍
