To leave you over the weekend, we could only do it with something extremely beautiful… and this Miyazawa Cresta CS-958-B felt like the perfect choice. ❤

Handmade with a .958 Britannia silver body, sterling silver mechanism, and gorgeous 14K details including soldered tone holes, lip plate, riser and crown, this flute is every bit as special as it looks.

The CS-1A headjoint brings out a beautifully resonant, responsive sound, with plenty of colour and flexibility for expressive playing. Add in a B footjoint, E mechanism, offset G, D # roller and Straubinger pads, and you have a flute that is seriously dreamy.

We’ve been talking a lot in the shop recently about sound. What shapes it, what changes it and how much difference the right headjoint can make.

So this pre-owned Sankyo headjoint feels like a lovely one to bring into the conversation. Made from .925 silver with an 18K gold riser, it offers plenty to explore in terms of colour, response and feel. Founded in 1968, Sankyo takes its name from “San”, meaning three (3 founding members), and “Kyo”, meaning sound. A lovely reminder that sound has always been at the heart of the company. 🎵
