Creating a safe place for people to sell their unwanted designer items in order for them to buy more..! That has been our business case and motto from day one and will continue to be so.
The brand was established with an Ebay shop followed by a Facebook shop shortly after. Sales rocketed and within the first 3 months of development, PapillonKia became a Top Seller on Ebay with a feedback score of 100%. Next came Vestiaire Collective of which we are proud to say that PapillonKia are ranked 71 out of 8 million members of their most trusted sellers.

The business has always been an e-commerce business purely to keep costs down and therefore forward these savings to customers.
Our main USP is that all bags for sale have been authenticated before listing on our website. PapillonKia do not entertain the counterfeit market and one of the main reasons for establishment was and is to stamp out counterfeits.
Papillonkia breathes, promotes and exists via the Circular Economy way of life. This is our main message and ethos in our business model. It’s a challenge but we are fully committed to try and change mindsets of people to adopt this way of living and thinking. Circular Fashion is the concept of making existing products last. It’s considered a new approach in the context of sustainable fashion. The aim of a circular economy is the elimination of waste, making a product(s) last by having many users during its lifetime.
Over the last 5 years, PapillonKia has become the go to destination on the internet for Pre-Loved Authentic Luxury. The whole business model of our brand was built around Circular Economy and Sustainability by providing end-users -our clients, the opportunity of owning and using a product that has been used by someone else previously and carrying on the cycle, and so on.
Now, we are aiming to help reduce the 4% of the world’s waste fashion generates a year, which is 92m tonnes in total.
The Founder
Brought up in a family business it was inevitable that I would have my own business one day. After years of studying, up to MBA level, so that I didn’t have to get married alas though, it eventually happened..! I worked for many years in the Banking and Investment Banking Industry in the City of London only to realise it was time for my husband and I to start a family. Mother to 2 beautiful princesses who are my absolute life – another chapter was formed. It was whilst being a stay at home mum that I realised my priorities had changed and I couldn’t just nip out in my lunch hour to purchase the latest Gucci or Louis Vuitton bag without having a care in the world. I have over 30 years experience of buying designer handbags and decided to search the web for Pre-loved bags to purchase to fuel my passion as they would be a lot cheaper wouldn’t they? Goodness wasn’t I wrong…! That’s when I decided there was a need for Papillonkia to be born.
