Disabled people and people with long-term health conditions are being invited to take part in a series of workshops that will help shape recommendations for the future of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) (see below)

The Timms Review launched last October with the aim of making sure PIP is fair and fit for the future. Its Interim Report, published in July 2026, found that PIP is no longer fit for purpose.

🚌 Great news for disabled bus passengers across England!

From April 2027, disabled people with eligible concessionary bus passes will be able to use them for free bus travel 24 hours a day — removing the current weekday restrictions on when passes can be used.

This is a positive step towards making public transport more accessible and giving disabled people greater freedom and independence when travelling for work, education, appointments, social activities and everyday life.

Removing time restrictions means journeys can be planned around people’s lives — rather than their lives having to be planned around their bus pass.

👏 A welcome change for accessible travel in England.

The change, which has been welcomed by campaign groups, will come into effect in England from April.

UK Expands Eligibility for Disabled Persons Railcard – More Accessible Travel!

📍 Starting 1 March 2026, the UK is widening the eligibility criteria for the Disabled Persons Railcard, meaning thousands more people with visible and non-visible disabilities will qualify for a £126 annual rail discount - helping make rail travel more affordable and accessible for more people.

☕✨ Meet the Dialogue Express Cafe in London's Newham – a truly inclusive coffee experience!

This unique cafe, housed in a vintage train carriage, is run by deaf and hard-of-hearing staff who serve customers using British Sign Language (BSL). All patrons are encouraged to sign their orders, with simple guides and video displays to help newcomers join in.
