This September, three young runners will be taking on the Vitality London 10,000 in support of Gift of Life, turning every kilometre into hope for children battling cancer and serious blood disorders.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to giving another child the chance to recover, grow up, and look forward to the future.

Please join us in cheering on our runners Ankita, Estee and Lev and, if you can, support their fundraising efforts. Every contribution makes a difference.

When Viliam was diagnosed with leukaemia at just 15, music became his source of strength and hope. Today, nearly ten years after his recovery, he is a professional violinist, studying at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory and continuing to support children facing cancer.

As part of our 15th anniversary series, Viliam reflects on recovery, resilience, and the people who made his journey possible.

“I often say that a miracle is much closer than it may seem at first glance. A miracle is something we can create with our own hands. When people choose to help, whether through their time, resources, skills, or kindness, they become part of something bigger than themselves. They become part of a child’s story. In a way, these children become their children too. The miracle we create together is what connects us all.” 💙

In the first half of 2026, thanks to the generosity of our community of givers, over £226,000 was invested in providing life-saving medicines for children and young people undergoing treatment for cancer and severe blood disorders.

🔬 These medicines included:
* Defitelio to prevent severe liver complications after bone marrow transplants
* Foscavir to treat life-threatening viral infections
* Essential chemotherapy medicines including Daunoblastin, Methotrexate 5000, Mitoxantron, Xaluprine, and Eto-Gry for children undergoing cancer treatment

Every vial, every bottle and every donation helped ensure children received urgent treatment exactly when they needed it most. Behind every number is a child, a family, and a future made possible through your kindness.

Thank you for helping us continue to provide children with access to the life-saving treatment they deserve 💛

Fourteen-year-old Grigoriy has been receiving treatment since 2022 for a severe combined primary immunodeficiency. Over the past few years, he has undergone multiple stages of treatment, including two stem cell transplants.

In February, thanks to your generosity, Gift of Life purchased 60 vials of Foscavir worth £17,643 for several children in our care, including Grigoriy. The medication was essential to support him during his post-transplant treatment, and he continues his recovery under the care of his medical team.

While Grigoriy remains in hospital, he fills his days with painting, building mosaics and lego sets, listening to his favourite band, Korol i Shut, and keeping in touch with his father, who supports him every day via video calls.

Thank you for helping children like Grigoriy continue receiving life-saving treatment when it matters most. Every donation helps provide hope, care and the chance for recovery 💛

As Wimbledon comes to a close, we celebrate not only the incredible performances on court, but also those from the world of tennis who have chosen to support children beyond the game.

Over the years, friends of Gift of Life, including Olga Morozova and Stefanos Tsitsipas, have generously donated exclusive experiences and auction lots for our fundraising events.

Their support has helped raise vital funds for life-saving medicines and treatment for children with cancer and serious blood disorders.

Every masterclass, every signed racquet, every unforgettable experience and every act of generosity has become something much greater, hope for families and another chance at childhood.

We are incredibly grateful to Olga Morozova and Stefanos Tsitsipas, whose generosity has made a real difference to the children we support.

At almost 2 years old, Alexandra has already shown incredible strength. 💛

Diagnosed with a severe primary immunodeficiency in infancy, she has undergone two stem cell transplants and faced multiple serious complications. Today, Alexandra is in stable condition and continuing her recovery in the transplant unit.

In February, thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Gift of Life purchased 60 vials of Foscavir (£17,643.94) for several young patients, with part of this vital treatment helping Alexandra during her rehabilitation.

When she’s not receiving treatment, Alexandra loves building pyramid toys, decorating with stickers and watching cartoons, while her mother remains by her side every step of the way.

💊 What is Foscavir and why do children fighting cancer need it?

Foscavir is a vital antiviral medication used to treat dangerous viral infections in children with weakened immune systems, especially those undergoing chemotherapy or bone marrow transplants.

At Gift of Life, we help fund Foscavir for children in the CIS countries when local hospitals can’t access it. This drug is often the only effective option against viruses from the Herpes family, like CMV (cytomegalovirus), which can be life-threatening in immunocompromised patients.

Foscavir gives young patients a real chance to continue cancer treatment safely and recover.

Every donation helps us provide this essential drug when it’s needed most. 💛

As Gift of Life celebrates its 15th anniversary, we spoke with our Trustee Aleksandra Vereshchetina about motherhood, charity, running the London Marathon, and why helping others should never be overcomplicated.

From leaving a successful legal career to founding Shaltay-Boltay magazine for bilingual children, Aleksandra has spent her life building communities, nurturing creativity, and supporting others.

In our latest interview, Aleksandra reflects on what inspires her, how she talks to her children about kindness and empathy, and why taking the first step to help can make all the difference.

“Most of all, I hope to see more recoveries, more healthy futures, and more families able to leave treatment behind and simply focus on living their lives.”
