Morning, let me tell you a story.
Some kid (a friend) is being a bit mean to Pip at the moment (its fine, it happens, kids misunderstand each other all the time).
Can you guess what I told her? Of course you can because they are rules to live by:
1. It is NEVER okay to use violence and certainly not to solve problems
2. Report the incident to a person of authority who can help calm and navigate the situation
Yet I look East and these rules are not being applied to the Palestinian people (and countless others). How can we hold our children to a higher accord than adults?
The scenes coming out of Gaza and Palestine will never leave me. “Liking” utterly atrocious content to ensure more people see the truth is beyond fu**ed. But necessary.
I’m disgusted at the UK abstaining in the UN yesterday. I’m pleased Labour are now calling for a lasting ceasefire but other than a tragically huge loss of life since the last vote, what has changed?
A CEASEFIRE and HUMANITARIAN AID have been and are the only way forward.
If you are able, please write to your MP today (Weds 21st), if you can March, if you can avoid those products that fund this kind of devastation and please remember where you are born is a lottery. Nobody gets to choose. Nobody deserves this. No child deserves this.
If it can be them, it can just as easily be you.
Lastly - when it’s time to vote. Remember this. Remember the MPs who didn’t vote for the ceasefire.
