Building a business isn’t always glamorous.

There are days full of ideas, days full of admin, and days where you simply keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Today is one of those days.

Behind every Bread to Bond product is time spent learning, improving and building something with purpose.

Thank you for following the journey from the very beginning. 🍞🌱

Building Bread to Bond one step at a time. 🍞🌱

People often see the finished product, but they rarely see everything that happens behind the scenes.

After finishing work today, it was straight back to building Bread to Bond, working on our Shopify store, refining the website and continuing to prepare for the next stage of our journey.

Every improvement, no matter how small, is another step towards creating something that can make a positive impact.

Bread to Bond started with one simple idea: transforming surplus bread into an eco-friendly craft glue powder that encourages creativity while helping reduce waste.

Thank you to everyone following along from the very beginning. Your support genuinely means more than you know.

Today, Bread to Bond officially took another step forward. 🌱

Our very first Founding 25 Partner Packs have now begun their journey.

What started as one simple question—

“What if surplus bread could become something more than waste?”

has become months of research, testing, refining and believing.

These pilot packs will help us gather honest feedback from real users as we continue to improve and develop Bread to Bond.

Every piece of feedback will help shape the future of our products.

This is only the beginning, and we’re so grateful to everyone following our journey from day one.

It begins. 🍞🌱
Welcome to the journey of Bread to Bond.

Every big idea starts somewhere. This is where ours begins. 🍞

Meet Bread to Bond.

We are on a mission to transform surplus bread into natural craft materials — giving something that may otherwise go to waste a completely new purpose.

What started as an idea has become months of experimenting, testing, learning, refining and believing that waste can become something valuable again.

Our first innovation?

A powdered craft glue made using surplus bread.

Just add water, mix and create.

We are still at the beginning of our journey, and over the coming weeks we will be sharing the real story behind Bread to Bond — from our early experiments to our first pilot packs going out into the world.

This is Chapter One.

From waste to wonder.
Welcome to Bread to Bond. 🌱

Let’s talk about this! 🤔

American Bread vs. French Bread: This Isn’t Just About Taste

Pick up a standard supermarket loaf in the United States and read the label.

Flour.
Water.
Yeast.
Salt.

And then 15–25 more ingredients.

Added sugars.
Seed oils.
Emulsifiers.
Dough conditioners.
Preservatives like calcium propionate.
Added gluten.
Enzymes designed to speed production and extend shelf life for weeks.

This isn’t bread the way humans made it for thousands of years.

It’s a shelf-stable industrial product engineered for logistics, softness, and profit margins.

Now compare that to a traditional French baguette.

By law, “pain de tradition” can contain only flour, water, yeast, and salt. No additives. No preservatives. It goes stale within a day — because it’s real food.

The difference matters.

In the U.S., ultra-processed foods make up roughly 55–60% of total calorie intake. Numerous large studies have linked higher consumption of ultra-processed foods to increased risks of obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and even higher overall mortality.

It’s not just the calories. It’s the structure of the food.

Emulsifiers and additives may alter gut microbiota. Rapidly digestible refined flours and added sugars spike blood glucose. Soft, hyper-palatable textures encourage overconsumption. Long shelf life encourages constant availability.

Meanwhile, U.S. adult obesity rates exceed 40%.

France? Around 17–20%.

Is bread the only reason? Of course not.

But when your “daily bread” is an ultra-processed, engineered product rather than a simple fermented staple, it reflects something bigger: a food system built for scale, not health.

America industrialized bread.

France protected it.

And over decades, those choices compound.

Health isn’t mysterious.

It’s environmental.

We’re nearly at 100 followers — and every single one of you is part of this story.

Bread to Bond started with a simple question:
What if surplus bread could become something more?

Right now, we’re testing, learning, documenting, and sharing the journey — quietly turning waste into possibility.

If you’re new here: welcome 🤍
If you’ve been here from the start: thank you for believing early.

Onwards to 100… and beyond 🍞♻️
