š Sunday Shenanigans š
Long one⦠but itās an absolute doozy of a tale⦠and another reason why my neighbours think Iām not quite normal š
Usually itās the twins making me reach for the local ads to enter a āfree to good homeā post. This week it was the blonde one⦠š¶
Piper DID start the week with a lovely case of ānon weight bearing front left legā drama⦠and a foot that almost trebled in size. That was the result of a run in with a spicy sky raisin š. Weāve been here before⦠sheās now fine.
Personally I thought that was enough drama for the week. I prefer the quiet life. Indy then came along and said āhold my toyā.
Start of the Wednesday walk she found a lovely giant stick! Nom nom. She loves stripping the bark from them, but DOES spit out the bits she strips off. Along came Ruby, your friendly neighbourhood Leonberger. Beautiful girl, likes b***y scratches. Some cute tug of war games, very happy play times. Indy decided it was too tame when Ruby continued on her walk. So she walked to the sheer drop area of the river. A place she is always told to avoid and to walk around to the pathway to get in the river. But no. Plop. In she goes! Is she smart enough to paddle around to the exit path? No. Does she panic, try jumping up the sheer cliff, unable to get up and crying in fear? Of course⦠so I have to empty my pockets and jump in so as I can shove her idiotic b***y out⦠when sheās out, I need to get out. That was not graceful. When Iām halfway out, a springer spaniel came up and pinched Indyās tennis ball that I put next to my phone and keys! Thieving little toe rag š (his owner got it for me). Just to say, no one helped me because itās so steep that when youāre in the river at that bit, no one will see you. Iām sure if people knew I was there they would have helped.
Surely things canāt get worse on this walk? Should I hurry home to change? My Skechers and socks were squelching⦠I was soaked in river water. Nah⦠Iāll continue and let Indy get her energy out. She disappeared into some foliage between two trees. 20-30 seconds max. No big deal, right? WRONG. She came out COVERED in sticky bobs. Ridiculous levels of sticky bobs. You pulled on one and her whole floof moved, such was the depth of her coverage. Her groomer was on holiday and I was still recovering from my own river diving. Oh no⦠INDY!!! š¤Æ
So I do need to do a shout out for Happy Hounds in Stapleford for getting me an emergency de tangling appointment š Thank you Emilie!! And Iām sorry for the drama that surrounds our girl š
All the drama tired her out to the point of CRAZY snoring. Like, who knew dogs snored THAT LOUD! The girl is sawing logs⦠(vid in comments that may take a minute to load. Sorry for the shaking but I was trying not to laugh and wake her)
Other than that - I think itās been business as usual. Lots of sleepy times, Jesse trying to work out what spot is comfier, the Echo Dot or the printer. Boo is sick of the heat and Piper decided the office needed more foliage so she came in COVERED in leaves and other detritus. Sq**rt is her usual vacant self. Spending her days hunting and sleeping in a fruit bowl sheās claimed. Of all the comfy beds we have in this house⦠only Murphy uses themā¦
Happy Sunday!
