🏃‍♂️ Gary is taking on the Leicester Half Marathon! 💙

This October, one of our Ambassador drivers, Gary, will be putting in the miles and taking on the Leicester Half Marathon in support of Alzheimer's Society.

Gary is running in memory of his dad, as well as in support of others living through the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s and dementia, including his father-in-law.

It’s a fantastic challenge for a very meaningful cause, and we’d love to help Gary reach his fundraising goal. ❤️

And that’s a wrap on our Food Drive! ❤️🥫

A huge thank you to everyone who donated to our recent food drive in support of Loughborough Area Foodbank.

We’ve received everything from hygiene products, including sanitary pads, toothpaste and children’s body wash, to a fantastic selection of tinned goods such as baked beans, kidney beans and soups.

We’ve also collected cereal, Kenco coffee, bottled water and so much more! ☕🥣💧

These might seem like simple everyday items, but they can make a huge difference to families and individuals who rely on the Foodbank for support.

Everything has now been carefully packed up and is ready to make its journey to Loughborough Area Foodbank, with one of our dedicated Ambassador Drivers set to make the delivery before the end of the week. 🚐❤️

We’re so grateful to everyone who donated, helped spread the word or supported the collection in any way. Thank you for helping us give back to our local community. ❤️

60 Miles. 24 Hours. Supporting Two Incredible Causes ❤️

This weekend, two members of our local community will be taking on an incredible challenge — walking 60 miles in 24 hours to raise money for Air Ambulance and Glenfield Hospital.

They will set off at 1pm on Saturday 29th August, walking through the day and night before aiming to finish at around 1pm on Sunday.

There’s a very personal reason behind the challenge. Earlier this year, someone they knew suffered a heart attack while driving and crashed. He was not breathing for many minutes, but thanks to the quick response of the Air Ambulance and the care he received at Glenfield Hospital, he survived and eventually went on to make a full recovery.

To support their challenge, Whittakers are making a donation and providing a couple of Walker Support Packs to help them through the 24 hours. The packs include electrolytes, energy gels, snack bars, blister plasters and a few other essentials for what will undoubtedly be a very tough 60 miles!

Most importantly, they are raising money for two services that made an enormous difference to someone they care about, and we’d love to help them spread the word.

🌱 Supporting Our Local Community

Last week, we were proud to support an International Youth Exchange in Loughborough, organised by Lions Clubs International.

The group of young people split into two teams, getting stuck into community projects across the area. One team helped paint and maintain the flower tubs at Loughborough Hospital, while the other worked at the John Storer House Community Garden, staining a large wooden gazebo. 🪴

We were pleased to donate PPE for the group, helping keep everyone safe while they got involved and gave something back to the local community.

A big thank you to everyone who organised the exchange, and to Loughborough Lions Club for sharing these photos with us. It’s great to see the work that was carried out and the difference the group made! 💚

🌟FOOD DRIVE – HELP US SUPPORT OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY! 🌟

Next month, on 7th & 8th September, we’ll be holding a Food Drive here at Whittaker Workplace Solutions, supporting Loughborough Area Foodbank. ❤️

The Foodbank provides emergency food parcels to people in need following referrals from various agencies across the Loughborough area. We’re asking our customers, suppliers, colleagues and local community to help us support this fantastic cause by donating non-perishable food, toiletries, household cleaning products and other essential items.

We appreciate that not everyone will be able to travel to us in Loughborough to drop off a donation. For any of our customers who are on our local van delivery routes and would like to donate but can’t make it to us, please let us know! We’ll see if we can arrange for one of our drivers to collect your donation when they’re next in your area, from the beginning of the week commencing 31st August.🚚❤️

Every donation, no matter how big or small, can make a real difference to someone in our local community.
