Dispelling a made up theory on ‘self levelling compounds’ aka latex.
We’ve just completed this 70 sq metre flooring task in Blundeston over 2 days so thought it relevant to address & hopefully educate, help anyone-
Agreed, there is products which you can mix, pour & walk away!
Ultimately these products are heavily water dependant with weak bonding agents, leaving a dusty surface, very few compatible substrates they can be flown on & HIGH potential to failure.
We get lots of calls, mainly from general builders who state that it’s ’self levelling’ how hard can it be! Why call us then? 🤔.
The product we use 99% of the time is Arditex NA- (NO ALTERNATIVE).
This product is unaffected by moisture, can be bulked up and flown to 30mm in one application, flown over nearly ALL substrates including tiles, FG ply, damp concrete & even steel.
Another phenomenal benefit about this product is that you can WALK ON IT after just 2 HOURS of completion.
It’s not for the faint hearted to flow, it’s not the easiest and as you can see for yourselves (under the island) it definitely isn’t
’self levelling’.
