Fabulous news for two of our favourite local historians - Ivan Bunn and David Butcher.
We do stock their books and count them as close friends to the shop so we are delighted to see they have been awarded this honour.
Ivan Bunn took my Middle School class on a very exciting ghost walk and sold us all a First Edition of Haunted Lowestoft. He has continued to inspire (and frighten) us ever since.
David Butcher was my A level English teacher, like so many of us! I think there are fewer people who were NOT taught by him than who did have the good fortune to be in his classes.
Well done to both gentlemen, a well-deserved thank you for the years of education and pleasure you have given to this town.

Lowestoft Town Council will be awarding the Freedom of the Town — our highest civic honour — to two remarkable historians:
Ivan Bunn and David Butcher.
Through decades of dedication, they have preserved and brought to life the stories, people and heritage of our town.
