A tiny dresser that brings me immense joy each time I see it.

Originally from Knockloughrim House, Co. Londonderry. Circa 1840.

Mimicking the form of its full-size pine cousins with great intentionality, but executed in mahogany for use and prominent display in the big house.

It's all in the detail...

Just look at the way this kingwood crossbanding has been so neatly fitted in the corners of this early 19th century Pembroke table, attributed to Gillows.

The veneers have been canted on the curve where they meet making it almost invisible to the eye and so pleasing to appreciate when spotted.

Quality tells!

Quality, quality, quality, it just shines through in this satinwood armchair!

Neo-classical revival, circa 1910, strung with sycamore throughout and the back set with three fabulous pierced splats each adorned with anthemion.

No apparent makers mark but akin to Waring & Gillow or Maple & Co. in terms of quality.
