🥁Drum roll please!🥁

With just a week to go until the Ta**us Crafts Dog Show, we thought it best to show some of our on-site furry mascots!

Here we have Mabel, who is the resident pooch for The Crafty Foxes Den, she's a big bundle of love! Mhari, who is our Welcome Kiosk puppy! And last but certainly not least, Oswald "Ozzy" our long standing office assistant! All of these lovely dogs have kept us happy and supported every single day! 🐾🐕🐶

We cannot wait to see all of the waggy tails and cute faces at the Dog Show!

💫Donate an item and help skills grow!💫

Our community at cafés are more than places to enjoy homemade food and a warm welcome, they are real-world learning environments where adults with learning disabilities can build confidence, develop independence and gain valuable work experience.

Through volunteering and supported opportunities in our cafés, shops and training kitchens, people learn practical skills in customer service, catering, food preparation, healthy eating, retail and kitchen work. These experiences help people grow in confidence, develop social skills and take positive steps towards future employment and greater independence.

We love them, so you may love them to......... Cheese and Marmite scones available from our Severnside Cafe. Made today by our wonderful Severnside Skills Trainees 💚

Severnside Skills had a great session in the training kitchen with Caldicot School this morning.

As part of their training, trainees have been busy making a variety of sweet and savoury scones for our cafe. After trialling and tasting so many, we’ve officially become Sconnoisseurs!

Today’s flavour is one people tend to either love or hate…

Yes, you’ve guessed it! Cheese and Marmite scones. The verdict from staff and trainees? Definitely love! ♥️

But don’t just take our word for it - come along and try one for yourself. Available in our cafe while stocks last.

✨May Half-term is here!✨

May half-term is arriving this weekend here at Ta**us Crafts, and we have some fun and creative activities on offer this week along with the fabulous weather! Take and look a the list below and see what takes your fancy:

🎨Drop in Crafts: Choose for a range of crafts that including making your Dragon fly. 24th, 26th & 30th May, 10am-3pm. £6 per craft or £10 for 2.

🐛Make a Bug Hotel: Create a cozy Bug Hotel and give your tiny garden guests a place to rest, hide, and explore! 25th & 28th May, 10am, 11:45am & 1:30pm. £12 per person, book online only (see link below).

🦁Clay Workshop: Get creative and make your own clay animal. From roaring lions, swimming fish, or even a wacky made-up creature. Every animal is fun in clay! 27th & 29th May. 10am, 11:45am & 1:30pm. £12 per person, book online only (see link below).

🌿 May Half-Term Fun at Ta**us Crafts! 🌿
Join Ta**us Crafts this May half-term for a week packed with creative, hands-on activities perfect for all ages. Surrounded by nature-inspired designs, from butterflies and dragonflies to bugs and greenery. This programme is all about getting crafty and celebrating the outdoors.

✨ What’s on?
We’ve got something happening throughout the week:

🎨 Drop-in Arts & Crafts (£6)
Get creative with a variety of fun activities – no need to book, just pop in between 10am–3pm on selected days (Sunday 24, Tuesday 26, and Saturday 30 May). Perfect for spontaneous family fun!

🐞 Build a Bug Hotel (£12, booking required)
Create a cosy home for garden insects and learn about the tiny creatures that help our environment. Running Monday 25 and Thursday 28 May.

🧱 Clay Workshops (£12, booking required)
Shape and sculpt your own clay creations, just like the handmade pieces shown in the poster – from animals to imaginative designs. Taking place Wednesday 27 and Friday 29 May.

🌼 Whether you’re dropping in for some relaxed crafting, building a bug-friendly habitat, or getting hands-on with clay, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained this half term.

Throwback Festival was an easy highlight of 2025 for us, and we can't wait to do it all again in just 5 weeks time. If you're a fan of vintage clothing, antiques and collectibles, records, craft, music and dancing, then join us 13th and 14th June for our celebration of all things retro. 🛒Thinking about a future in retail?🛒

Our new Short Course at Severnside Skills could be your perfect next step. Join us two afternoons a week and get real hands‑on retail experience in our Visitor Centre campus. From chatting with customers to supporting daily shop tasks, you’ll get a genuine feel for what working in retail is all about.
It’s fun, confidence‑boosting, and a great way to explore whether retail could be your future.
