Jess has been busy tying up the ultra light rigs again, today she's on the scaled back 2 hook flappers.
A couple of the patterns are used by LRSAC Juniors during their sessions.
New member Oakley fished with the club last night and was thrilled to catch some Sand Smelt and Pout during his first try at fishing...and was desperate to get out again today. Popped into the shop to pick up some of the 'special rigs' and a bit of worm...and look what he landed! Safe to say Oakley is hooked! 🥳 Well done young man...what a beauty of a Golden Grey!

⭐️ BREAM COMP UPDATE ⭐️

🐟 Sundays Black Bream Open Boat Competition is on.

✔️ All systems go unless there is a drastic change in weather forecast. Look out for updates here.

📝 Sign on at the Tackle Box from 8am. Boats leave at 9am and must return by 5pm. (Charter boats operating from beer must leave from Lyme Regis but may return to Beer as long as they have stopped fishing by 4pm)

⚖️ Weigh in at the Tackle box. 17:15-17:45. 1 Black Bream only over 30cm to be brought to the scales per angler.

📖 1 rod with a maximum of 3 hooks only to be used.

The wind is certainly giving the sea a good stir-up, so by Friday it should be fishing pretty well! If the sea stays coloured up, expect to see Conger, Rays, Bass, and Huss. If the water does clear up again by Friday the Mackerel should be back, along with Scad, Bass, Mullet, and Gurnard (might even see some Garfish if the Tuna haven't eaten them all).

This week saw the RLNI Crabbing Competition where we teamed up with Lyme Regis Sea Angling Club to run the 2 competitions.
We saw 54 entries over the two days and members of LRSAC volunteered their time to come along to help get everyone signed in and ready to crab! They also measured and recorded all the catches and presented the prizes supplied by us.
It was a fun few hours and we're looking forward to teaming up with LRSAC next Lifeboat week for some more fishing fun!

Shhhh....It's Darren's birthday! So if you're popping in today make a fuss of him 😉
We're really lucky to have him...not only at The Tackle Box, where he works tirelessly to make sure everyone get to enjoy fishing. But mainly as my ever supportive husband and the dad to our girls.
