Congratulations to Oli Hale and Harry Shaw on finishing third at the GP14 worlds.

The eagle eyed amongst you may recognise Oli from behind the counter of Nick Cox Yacht Chandlery where he takes a few holiday shifts around his university and sailing commitments. Excellent work Oli and Harry, beating 97 boats is no mean feat, especially in a fleet this competitive.

I dont know about you, but flip flops just dont seem be as comfy as they used to be. The rumour is I am getting older but I blame the footwear. Luckily, the answer has presented itself. Arch support, not something that 18 year old me could even contemplate but 45 year old me is starting to know too much about. Well the guys Archies took their experience in podiatry and created a range of arch support flip flops with the style of the Havana and the comfort of a real shoe. These are all day long flip flops and they come in a range of colours.

We have a nice little bijou collection on the way to the shop now. So come, buy them, try them and discover that you can still flipflop too. The range will grow in the coming weeks but we are looking to build the colours and styles as we learn what you like and what you dont.

When you go to the chandlery, sometimes you know what you want. Whether the marketing worked, you had one before or your friend recommended it, you come armed with the knowledge to make your own choice. But sometimes, you need a little help. It's time for the annual Lymington Seafood Festival this weekend.

Whether you long for langoustine, pine for prawns or just have a b**r and mullet all over, the seafood festival has it all.

We will be adding to the festivities at with a sale at the shop of deck shoes including Seafront Hurst, Apache Moose, Orca Bay and Slam

Lets be honest, many of us may dream of sailing the world but few of us ever cast of the shackles and go for it. Gunnar Christensen has managed exactly that though and together with his trusty Hans Christian 34, will be heading off on the 6th of September to take part in the 4th edition of the Golden Globe Race.

When preparing his vessel, Gunnar has been working closely with many suppliers including the team at YouBoat/Nick Cox. From the specialist life raft requirement to moire general chandlery our team have been on hand to make sure Gunnar sets off as prepared as he can be.
