Hello there!
I thought I'd introduce myself, I'm Steph 👋
I started Steph in Stitches as a way to share my love of being creative (plus there's only so many boxes of divine yarns and fabric you can keep in you house at once!)
::: Why "Steph in Stitches" ? :::
Well, credit has to go to my friend's husband for the name. I am part of a wonderful craft group in the village where I live and sometimes (pre-plague era) would host sewing schools in our homes. He came up with the name because he knew I loved to craft and I can ALWAYS be heard laughing... a lot! So, there we go!
::: Where are you from? :::
I grew up in Manchester but crossed to the darkside into Cheshire (blame the husband) but I'll admit I do love it here.
::: How long have you been doing your thang? :::
Did I just write the word 'thang'? Good Grief! 🤦♀️
I have been crocheting for 7 years and sewing for 5.
::: So, what can you do? :::
I am confident in modern, traditional and vintage crochet techniques, including: Fillet crochet, lacework, interlocking crochet, plaid crochet (like the cowl in my picture), cable crochet and mosaic crochet.
I am an incredibly enthusiastic sewist. I am in the process of making lots more facemasks so you can use them too.
I love to learn and have amassed a repertoire of crafting skills that enable me to create products that are truly unique.
::: What have you made for other people? :::
I've made wedding shawls, lacework shawls, scarves, cowls, facemasks, dresses, ornaments and SO much more and I can't wait to share them with you too!
::: Can we see what you have made? :::
Of course! I will post my past makes on here so you can see what I have created in the past and they can hopefully inspire you for your future makes too!
Best wishes,
Steph ###
