Personally, I still think the pitch pine grain is beautiful and I love the glass k***s, but they’ve never quite found their person.

Sunday evening seemed fitting 😌

An unusually decorative Victorian religious motto print, featuring embossed silver lettering surrounded by soft pink lilies and delicate floral garlands. Housed in its original ornate moulded frame, it has the gentle faded colours and timeworn character that only age can create. More than a devotional piece, it now works beautifully as decorative wall art, bringing a touch of romantic English country house charm to a gallery wall, hallway or bedroom... and sits quite beautifully with a disco ball 🪩 or two !!

Two Victorian pine chests of drawers today.

Same but different.

Both chunky little three drawer chests with bun feet, both full of character, both the sort of size that could work in all sorts of places.

As oversized bedside tables.
In a hallway.
In a small bedroom.
In an alcove.
Beside a sofa.
Anywhere you need useful storage without a huge chest taking over the room.

The left one has carved side detail, crystal k***s, a lovely rounded top edge and a sort of disguised secret top drawer.

The right one is softer, quieter, plainer and has those lovely wooden k***s.

So naturally I’ve decided this is now a personality test.

Are you crystal k***s and a bit of drama?

Or wooden k***s and calm practical charm?

I bought these because I couldn’t walk past them.

Twenty antique French encaustic floor tiles, each one with the most beautiful faded turquoise, cream, black and terracotta pattern.

Dating from around the turn of the last century, they would originally have formed part of a much larger floor in a French home. A hallway, kitchen or veranda perhaps. Imagine all the footsteps they’ve seen over the last hundred years or so.

The colours are what got me. They feel both bold and faded at the same time.

I have 20 available in total and they’re perfect for anyone who loves old houses, architectural salvage and unusual decorative pieces.

Use them as trivets, display them on a shelf, frame a group together, splash back (like I have ) incorporate them into a tabletop or, if you’re lucky enough to have enough already, add them to an existing floor.

If embroidered samplers, faded linen and little stitched deer make your heart happy… welcome.

I couldn’t leave this one behind.

A beautifully hand-stitched alphabet sampler, worked in soft shades of coral, blue, green and gold, with floral borders, stylised trees and the sweetest little deer at its centre.

These samplers were often stitched as a way of practising needlework skills, with alphabets, decorative motifs and repeating patterns all carefully worked by hand, one stitch at a time.

What I love about this one is its simplicity. No grand statement. No elaborate scene. Just a lovely collection of traditional motifs that have survived remarkably well.

A piece of textile history that’s as decorative today as it was when it was first stitched.

Love these two items so much ❤️

Large vintage floral painting in what looks to be a lovely old plaster and gesso style frame with beautiful ornate detailing.

Possibly mid century rather than truly antique, but painted in a much older romantic style with that faded country house feel people love. The soft muted background and loose floral arrangement feel very French salon inspired to me.

The frame is gorgeous too. Deep, decorative and slightly timeworn in all the right ways.

Paired here with the sweetest painted Victorian pine table with turned legs and chunky old wooden k***s and a huge full length drawer . Perfect anywhere.

One of those combinations that instantly makes a house feel softer and more lived in. Perfect in my hall with the magic wallpaper 🤣

Lovely Victorian pine chest of drawers with the prettiest mellow colour and those knots and markings that make old pine so addictive.

Great useful size too.
Big enough to hold plenty without taking over the whole room.

I love the turned bun feet, the smaller top drawers , the porcelain k***s and the soft honey colour of the wood.

Clean drawers , smoothest of runners and ready to use.

Lovely old green chippy Victorian box with the best worn paint and all the character you could hope for.

Originally used as a bedding box, but these make brilliant coffee tables now. Especially if you’re someone who likes hidden storage for all the everyday bits you don’t want on show.

Great colour too. That deep aged green that works so well against neutral rooms, old wood and cosy lighting.

Still has its original candle box inside and lovely old iron hinges underneath the lid.

One of those pieces that just makes a room feel more interesting.

Hall bench with hidden storage handmade from Victorian reclaimed pine🤎

One of those pieces that makes a hallway feel instantly warm and lived in (and infinitely less cluttered)

Perfect for extra storage without looking too practical or bulky. Ideal for shoes, bags, blankets or all the everyday bits that seem to gather by the front door.

I love the soft honey pine colour and the shape of the sides on this one. It’s got that lovely handmade feel to it and would work just as well in a kitchen or boot room too.
