Saturday Spotlight ❤️

This week in our series to showcase the 32 amazing artists at Makers at the Market: Emma Kathryn Pottery.

Emma Kathryn is a ceramicist whose hand made pieces are a firm favourite. Pieces include mugs, tumblers, spoon rests, butter dishes, salts pigs, mixing bowls and cereal bowls. All in the most beautiful glazes.

Because they are handmade, all the mugs are slightly different sizes and shapes giving them a mismatched charm of their own but they all share a little piece to rest your thumb (simple but genius). Customers in my shop adore this little detail and talk to me every day about how it helps them with mobility and sensory needs.

So proud to have Emma Kathryn’s gorgeous collection in my little shop. If you would like to see more, she has recently launched her website and is also a regular at the amazing Treacle Market. You’ll usually find her outside the old M&S on Mill Street.

Todays’s spotlight artist is Sewing Susan. From the very first day of this little shop we have been stockists of Susan’s pretty pieces.

Her ethos is recycling, reusing and keeping fabrics from landfill. Using patchwork, she brings together fabrics from all over to produce tote bags, cosmetics pouches, book covers, purses, pencil cases and bunting.

Susan also produces bespoke pieces to order so that our customers can have exactly the shape and colour they want.

Thank you for being part of our tiny community Susan, and for bringing so much colour to the shop ❤️

They are so striking I really wanted to show you.

Jo is a local artist who creates pieces in a wide variety of styles - from 60s-inspired pop art to the most exquisite original watercolours.

Pop in for a look, they’re so unusual and would make the most gorgeous Christmas gifts.
