My biggest regret from my own wedding day is choosing fresh flowers for my bridal bouquet. My bouquet was still beautiful but it was gone within days.

I did make my own flower crown for the day so that is something I’ve been able to keep and cherish and although I don’t regret the use of fresh flowers entirely at my wedding for example on the tables and the larger arrangements that decorated the aisle, but I do regret using them for the smaller items like the bouquets and buttonholes. These are thing I wish I’d been able to keep but after hours out of water my bouquet was going brown and limp 😢

I looked into several preservation companies but the cost was around £300-£350 which was more than the cost of the fresh flower bouquet to begin with - which don’t get me wrong I’m not knocking what these companies charge it was simply that I didn’t have anything left in my wedding budget to fund that.

This is why I would encourage any bride to choose dried and preserved flowers from the start for the items you’d want to keep like the flower crown, bouquet and grooms buttonhole to avoid the regrets I still have 12 years later.
