We like a jumble over here at JKG. The Ilaria Cross in raw 18k gold with the original "JKG Camo Finish" which adds glimmer and texture without being a flat out shine - it's more subtle, more personal. Here with spinels and sapphires, and the eternal JKG fav - a strand of seed pearls.

No two are alike, so each cross can be customized any which way you prefer. Email or DM to have yours for the holidays.

My little sister mentioned wanting a tattoo so I quickly made her a Sagittarius necklace. A mucho abstract Zodiac medallion coin nugget amalgamation was born!

On a related note, long ago, for Amelia's 2014 bachelorette, we stayed in this glorious villa 20 minutes outside of Rome. The owner, Ottavio, told us of how his family had bought this house with the proceeds from the sale of a statue that was dug up in one of their potato fields. Due to the timing, the 1930s, they actually sold it twice and made out quite nicely. Another friend actually, his family hid a fair amount of their jewelry in a potato field during one of the World Wars, so potato fields seem to feature heavily in many a family myth, and I just love the image of preciousness emerging from the boggy depths.

JKG pieces are oft designed around "could this plausibly be dug up in a vegetable garden?" And we dig (ha) that mottled, marred, worn-abstract-by-time aesthetic.

My inner compass usually leads me towards cashmere or any type of toasted bread with buratta and anchovies atop it. It's quite a talent, but not as monetizable as, say, finding oil, or deep water wells. I'd call myself a truffle pig but the one time I attempted to go truffle hunting at a friend's house in Tuscany (I mean, how hard can it be?) resulted in a mini German search party being dispatched. Nothing quite like the sting of Teutonic disapproval coupled with realizing you're about sixty feet from the driveway. And then no one got my Troop Beverly Hills reference! It was, all in all, not the greatest of days, JKG morale-wise. Also please note that truffle hunting is illegal without a permit, but you knew that from the other JKG scarf series.

When I started out, dinky, fragile jewelry was all around and I desperately wanted a ring in solid gold that was bomb-proof without looking like something a 1990's Vermont ceramicist would have blobbed up while wearing a purple muumuu. A fine line to toe. And I didn't want any fiddly details, but I *did* want a lot of texture, hence the sandblasting on the recessed areas. I had a fun week explaining my desire for chiaroscuro with the kindest 65 year old bench-worker named Ken whose main interests were tiny feats of engineering and the Mets. All this resulted in what the studio called my "Doink" ring because my handwriting of Doric is script-adjacent and not for the faint of heart.

My Doink ring has been a constant companion this past decade and I am thrilled to see solid, sturdy accessories again becoming au courant. It's like 2005, when the cafeteria started having fewer and fewer instances of low rise pants sprouting bedazzled thongs, and my own personal sartorial choices became less of a fashion statement and more of a visually appealing norm.

I seem to have gotten sidetracked. But yes, I do love a swath of gold, I have always coveted mens rings, but a signet ring is too masculine for my already strong hands. So this threads that needle. "Because I'm a lady, that's why!" and all that aspirational vibe-age from the Artistocats.

The Doric Ring with a 12 year patina.

As we slowly ease into the weather that is best for dressing, may I recommend G.H. Bass loafers for when you want to look like Blair Waldorf but have to like, walk places. I worry sometimes that I am fighting a losing battle, this desire to bring butter yellow into the realm of "it's a neutral" with the likes of army greens and oxblood reds. Did no one else tie their father's tie age 6 or 7, learning both the importance of a four-in-hand knot and keeping chocolate consumption secrets from Mom? I can't be the only one soothed by 1970's Club Tie yellow.

At any rate, it is one of four colorways that I used for the Flower Hunters which are very elegant emotional support blankets, essentially. The 50/50 blend of silk and cashmere is lightweight, compact, naturally water resistant but breathable, and above all else, very cozy.

The Duo Scala is yet another two stone ring by JKG. I am currently mucho into two stone rings, they feel slightly masculine, slightly casual, slightly ooo go team school colors rah rah and youth and cable knitty etc. With two stones, it is a tad less expected, *and* the way you must set them means they are more visible to you. Are you prepared for frighteningly overthought design reasoning? Read on!

Have a look down at your hands as you're at your computer or just at rest in general - if the cross section diameter of your finger is a clock, you mostly see the 12-2ish portion on your left hand and the 10amish-12pm on your right, so with a two stone ring you get the full face of a gemstone most of the time rather than with a single or three stone setting where it is best viewed when your hand is directly in front of you, which is rarer! Like when you're turning a steering wheel or shutting an especially old and cantankerous drawer, and that's basically it. Unless you are one of those TikTok silent pointy influencers who shake their hands directly in front of their faces in mock surprise, for reasons which I desperately hope will remain unknown to me.

So ya, the Duo Scala is designed to bring you delight at random throughout your day as it is designed for *your* immediate viewership rather than that of those around you. Oh and "Scala" because of the steps up and then down the ring. Five steps total. Seen here with a Mandarin (yum) garnet cabochon and an aquamarine sugarloaf (also yum, what a yum ring).

Back to escuela. If anyone is a Flower Hunter, it is my goddaughter. Is she not perfect!? We like to start 'em young, re stealing from Mummy's wardrobe, or rather, sharing is caring, and nothing says you care more than a cashmere/silk shawl wrapped lovingly around one's shoulders. Please note the size also allows it to function as a strait jacket.

"My Ayah dressed me!"

The Ilaria III pendant atop a vintage Victorian nightgown, as inspired by . I've designed these pendants to fit on any chain you may already have in your possession, say, for example, an Elizabeth Locke that's been gaining patina since your 21st birthday. I love a plum and froggy green together, so rarely combined outside of interiors, but what is jewelry if not sparkly tassels and throw cushions for the body. Am I reaching? Perhaps.

For all you Secret Garden nutheads out there, if you tell yourself that Maggie Smith's Mrs. Medlock has performed the most amazing con identity theft social climbing combo to become the Dowager Duchess of thingy, Downton Abbey is a whole new level of entertaining. Also Dickon became a private security lug who has an affair with his female boss in a later season of Inspector Lewis, very disappointing.

Sorry, back to jewelry - gems used are diamond, kunzite, peridot, and my fav plummy spinel. 18k gold and so on and so forth.

🪷🌵🌱The Enid Haupt Conservatory got me thinking about how much I love peridot cabochons. My Guinea pug (typo and im keeping it) friends kindly obliged with the hand modeling during our sneaky sneak mish to . I wanted a simple ~duomo~ vibe for the pinky with rough hewn Cheapside Hoard gold bands and hand enameled orchid stripe and dot motifs, you know? Like easy peasy summer jewelry cocktail rings for boat trips.
