After fifteen wonderful years, the doors of Craft Coop Maidenhead have now closed.

While this chapter has come to an end, we are incredibly grateful for every customer, maker, volunteer, workshop participant, and supporter who helped make our Maidenhead shop such a special place. Together, we created a welcoming community that celebrated creativity, handmade craftsmanship, and local talent.

Although our Maidenhead location is no longer open, Craft Coop continues to thrive through our other shops, events, workshops, and creative projects across the region. We are also actively exploring new opportunities in Maidenhead and hope to return in a new form in the future.

✨ Women Crafting Community: Teresa from Teresa Mills Mosaics & Craft Coop Founder ✨

As we reach the final post in our Women Crafting Community series, it feels fitting to end with the story of the woman whose vision helped make so many creative journeys possible.

Teresa’s inspiration for founding Craft Coop came during a visit to Bornholm, Denmark, where she saw craftspeople working together in beautiful collaborative retail spaces. It sparked a simple but powerful idea: independent makers everywhere face similar challenges, from rising costs and limited visibility to the isolation that can come with working alone. What if they could thrive together instead?

That idea became Craft Coop.

Over the last fifteen years, Teresa, alongside the late Deborah Jones and now Heidi Berry, has helped build an award-winning social enterprise that has given hundreds of makers the opportunity to step out of spare rooms, studios, and kitchen tables and into welcoming, professional retail spaces.

When asked what Craft Coop has given her, Teresa speaks not only of professional growth and retail experience, but of community. A place where creativity is valued, friendships are formed, and independent businesses become stronger through collaboration rather than competition.

Her advice to women starting today is one that sits at the heart of Craft Coop’s mission:

“Don’t try to do it all alone. Find your community. Share knowledge, support one another, collaborate rather than compete. When creative women come together, confidence grows, opportunities multiply, and businesses flourish.”

As we celebrate 15 years of Craft Coop, Teresa’s story reminds us that behind every successful creative community is a belief that we are stronger together.

Thank you, Teresa, for creating a space where so many makers have found confidence, friendship, and a place to belong.

✨ Women Crafting Community ✨

This week we’re sharing the story behind another long-standing member of the Craft Coop community, whose creative journey began with a love of making things by hand passed down through generations.

From crochet and knitting to jewellery making and handmade cards, creativity was always part of everyday life long before it became a business. After moving to the UK over 20 years ago, that quiet passion slowly unfolded into a creative enterprise, with early days spent selling at craft fairs across London and connecting with people through handmade work.

In 2011, an invitation from Craft Coop founder Deborah Jones became the start of a much deeper creative journey. What followed was not just a place to sell work, but a community built on encouragement, shared knowledge, friendship, and belonging.

Her advice to women starting today is simple but powerful:
start with what you already have, trust your existing skills, and allow yourself to grow as you go. Creativity is never “just a hobby”. The things we instinctively make with our hands often carry far more meaning and value than we realise.

Fifteen years on, these stories continue to weave together the heart of Craft Coop and the incredible women behind it.

As we begin our final week of Mini Coopers in this shop, we just wanted to say thank you 💛

Over the past months, we’ve seen hundreds of little hands colouring, sticking, painting, folding, and proudly carrying their creations home through our doors. This week’s dinosaur keepsakes feel a little extra special, tiny colourful reminders of the creativity, laughter, and community that filled this space.

Although we’ll be closing our doors here on the 30th, we hope these decorated animals will keep bringing smiles long after the tables are packed away.

Please come and join us for one last week of free children’s crafts, collect your Mini Coopers stamps, and help us give this little creative corner the send-off it deserves 🐶🐭🐱✨

As Craft Coop Maidenhead prepares for its next chapter, we wanted to share some of the creative groups, workshops, and community sessions still taking place before we close this location at the end of May.

From relaxed Thursday Craft Meet Ups and evening Craft & Sip sessions with Michelle, to beginner-friendly crochet workshops with Izabela, there are still plenty of opportunities to get creative, meet like-minded people, and be part of our wonderful crafting community.

Some sessions will continue in new locations in the future, and we are currently searching for a new home for our Maidenhead workshops. Until then, we would love to see as many familiar and new faces as possible at these final sessions in our current space.

Please keep an eye on our social media and website for updates, future dates, and news about our next location.

Outreach workshop at TVAP ✨

A lovely afternoon of creativity, conversation, cake, and a little breathing space for all.

Michelle hosted a gentle outreach workshop where everyone could pause for a while and enjoy something just for themselves. Two whole hours of making, chatting, laughing, and sharing a well deserved moment of calm together.

Sometimes creativity is more than crafting. It’s connection, community, and giving yourself permission to slow down for a little while.

✨ Women Crafting Community: Yolande from Originals by Yolande Dennis ✨

Meet Yolande, a maker whose journey blends creativity, resilience, and quiet determination.

From an early love of fashion and design to a career in architecture, creativity has always been part of her path. Later, she returned to it in a new way, beginning to design and create her own jewellery, taking that first leap into craft fairs with encouragement from those around her.

Her journey with Craft Coop began from a simple pop-up opportunity… and grew into something much more.

For Yolande, the community has been just as important as the making, a space filled with talented individuals, shared knowledge, and lasting friendships. A place where ideas expand, and confidence grows.

And her message is clear: believe in your ability, and don’t accept “no” as the final answer.

We’re so proud to have Yolande as part of our community 💛

Pop in to discover her beautifully crafted pieces and the story behind them.
