Celebrating Maidstone Town Centre.

We’ve just come back from being part of something big — and honestly, it pushed us in the best way.

At Living Land, N2 Sweet Lab stepped out of the kitchen and into education. We spent the day with over 2,500 kids, breaking down what cacao really is and how chocolate is actually made — from fermentation, roasting, and conching, all the way to tempering.

We didn’t just talk. We explored.

We smelled fermented vs roasted beans.
We showed how roasting transforms aroma and flavour.
We challenged what people think chocolate tastes like.

And here’s what stood out — a lot of the kids were genuinely curious. Not just polite, but properly engaged. Some were surprised by real cacao. Some loved it. Some didn’t. And that’s exactly the point.

It was intense, loud, a bit chaotic — but worth it.

Big respect to the organisers Kent County Show or putting this together and creating a space where businesses can actually connect with the next generation in a meaningful way.

Easter was intense this year — in the best way. You guys kept us fully booked and constantly moving, so these didn’t get the attention they deserved at the time.

Day 3 – Final Day , and finishing the sugar showpiece feels like closing an intense but rewarding chapter.

The past few days with have been all about precision, patience, and control. Working with sugar at this level leaves no room for shortcuts — temperature, timing, and speed decide everything. A few seconds too slow and the whole structure changes.

What stood out the most is how similar artistic sugar is to chocolate work. Both demand discipline, focus, and repetition. You can study techniques, but real progress only comes from working with your hands, making mistakes, and refining every movement.

From burned fingers on day one to building a full showpiece today — the learning curve has been steep, but that’s exactly why experiences like this matter.

New techniques, new perspective, and plenty of ideas to bring back to N2 Sweet Lab.

Had a fantastic time hosting a private chocolate demonstration at the beautiful Orida Hotel🍫✨

It was a pleasure to share the craft behind fine chocolate and create a sweet experience for everyone who attended. Huge thank you to the amazing team at Orida Hotel for the warm hospitality and for providing such a great space for the event.

Special thanks as well to Cooks Coaches for organising and trusting N2 Sweet Lab to deliver the session — always a pleasure to work together!
