In 2018 McDonalds began switching from plastic to paper straws.
But neither are typically recycled and instead incinerated for energy or dumped as general waste in landfill.
Ironically, the plastic straws they replaced were fully recyclable!

Friend Farm Animal Sanctuary is located on a beautiful 10 acre site in rural Kent.
Established in 1994 by the late Marion Eaton and in the following years they have rescued upward of 3000 animals.

Their mission is to offer a lifelong, no-kill, free-roaming, safe-haven, forever home to unwanted, neglected and abused non-human animals, while educating about animals, veganism and ecological sustainability.
