the Kitten and the Bear

Original greeting cards and cosy accessories - trying to brighten up the world one drawing/scrunchie/knitted hat at a time 😺🐻 Kenneth and Delilah. What a pair.

Kenneth is a loveable chonk of a bear who never seems to quite get it right, and Delilah is the sassy kitten who puts up with him. It can only be true love. The Kitten and the Bear are characters created by Sami Mason, intended to bring some small glimmer of joy into an otherwise dreary world. Their antics are shared through our unique greeting cards. In addition to our original card and bookmark designs, we also have a range of unique accessories available. All items are handmade with high quality materials. This is a small, home-run business but, most importantly, an outlet to share our creativity with the world and bring a smile to others. Our greeting cards and accessories can be purchased from our online store. You can also buy our greeting cards via Thortful, and send directly to your intended recipient. Want to buy from us in person or just say hello? Follow our socials for info about upcoming appearances at local markets and craft fairs!

Re-organise all of your yarn, they said.
It'll be fun, they said.

THEY LIED.

Not pictured here - the other THREE BOXES of yarn I need to sort...😬😬😬

Many of you know that, aside from the Kitten and the Bear, my main love in life is music and singing. In fact, my 'main' role in life is as a singing teacher, musical director and general muso.

One of the people who has had the biggest influence on my journey as a singer and teacher is this man,
After five years of learning under his guidance, I had my last official lesson ever with him this evening (and yes, the last thing we did was sing "For Good" together, because clearly I'm not emotional enough already!)

It is not unduly hyperbolic to say that, without Danny, I would not have the career I have today. I get to wake up every morning and do a job I love because this human has poured his knowledge and expertise into his tuition, as he does with every student he teaches. Not only has he helped me hugely improve as a singer and educator, he has been the most patient, kind, and supportive friend along the way and I will be forever grateful for everything he has done for me.

Danny, you're an absolute legend - "so much of me is made of what I learned from you", and I will keep trying my best to make you proud.

The fact that I just posted this with a long caption that then didn't save kind of sums it all up 🤦🏼‍♀️

TL:DR version - it's been a week, it's all a bit much mentally and physically, I won't be at market this weekend sadly, but I will be there on Saturday 7th November. Put it in your diaries. Buy all your Christmas cards and gifts from me. Look after each other please and thank you.

I needed a new animal character in honour of my legendary granddad, aka Dabs. I have often thought he would be an English Bulldog, and when I realised a beautiful bulldog could also honour my darling Jade 🧋✈️🌏🛍🎵 it felt only right.

Please welcome Douglas the Bulldog to the fam 🦴 🐾
A handsome old boy for a handsome of boy.

How was yesterday's market?

A handful of customers + one visit from my parentals avec un caffeinated beverage + pitch fee covered + massive dent to my dignity, bumper and brake light! 🤦🏼‍♀️

In the words of a very wise couple, "sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe s**t." 🤷🏼‍♀️

All in a day's work for a small business owner. 😬

Next market is 3rd October - maybe come and buy your Xmas cards from me then?! 😻

Despite the lack of massive sign, I am in fact very much here peddling my wares!

I'll be at Royal Star Arcade until 3pm today, opposite the Beach Bar. Come and say hello (and an iced hazelnut latte wouldn't go amiss...)

Tomorrow is market day!

I'll be at the Royal Star Arcade Artisan Market from 10am-3pm tomorrow (Saturday 5th September) so pop along and say hello, grab a bargain and potentially even start thinking about that thing that happens in a few months that we shouldn't even be talking about yet...
