My name is Lauren and I am an Usborne Team Leader, as well as a Mummy and Primary School Teacher. My son was 5 months old and, as much as I love being a teacher, I knew I didn’t want to go back to work full time. Also, being a new mum, my life revolved around feeds, nappy changes and tonnes of baby groups where I was known as ‘Eli’s Mummy’ (a title I am very proud of) … but I was longing for somet
hing that made me feel a bit more like ‘Lauren’ again. One evening while brainlessly scrolling through Facebook, I stumbled across an ad about joining Usborne and decided to take a leap of faith – I am so glad I did! I couldn’t believe that it only cost £48 to start my own business, with the promised support of not only me Mentor but a whole team of Organisers across the country, as well as a free personalised website and a box of beautiful Usborne books and business stationary worth over £150! I thought to myself ‘There must be a catch’ but I was reassured there were no targets, no future costs and no pressure. I was even more impressed to learn that within 6 weeks of joining, I could get another amazing box of £50 worth of books and I could even get my £48 back! Well, I thought … it’s worth a go … and even if I don’t manage to do those things or decide Usborne isn’t for me, I will still have a wonderful box of books for m son that cost me just £48! I did get the extra £50 worth of books and I got my £48 refunded. Not only that … I’ve made great friends, I’ve grown in confidence, I’ve earned lots of FREE books for my son, I’ve been able to go back to work for two days a week and I’ve been able to work around my teaching job and family life. I have also promoted to a Team Leader, helping other enthusiastic and likeminded people start their own exciting Usborne journey. I am so proud to be a part of Usborne’s effort to inspire the next generation of book worms and get as many fantastic books into as many children’s hands, homes, nurseries ad schools as possible.
