☀️ What’s been happening… and what’s coming up this week! ☀️

We’ve been a little quieter on our much-loved “What’s been happening” posts recently… but only because so much has been happening that we’ve barely had time to tell you what we’ve been up to!

Summer is always our busiest time of year. Alongside keeping the taproom running, we’re out at events across the country whilst trying to keep up with brewing enough beer to satisfy what is almost double the demand we see during the first quarter of the year.

The rhythm goes something like this…

🍺 Brew beer…
🚚 Load the brew truck and van…
🎪 Head off to a weekend festival…
🌙 Roll back in around 2am on Sunday morning…
💻 Monday is admin day…
🧼 Tuesday is cleaning and preparing tanks…
⚗️ Wednesday is brew day…
🚛 Thursday we’re loading up all over again ready for the next adventure!

And that’s pretty much life from May through to September! Before we know it we’ll be into Oktoberfest… and then the C word will be creeping up on us! 🎄😅

❓ It’s QUIZ NIGHT from 6pm and we’re almost fully booked! If you’re planning on joining us, don’t leave it too late.

Meanwhile… Amy & Sam are heading north this weekend to the Northallerton Craft Beer Festival, which we’re really looking forward to! 🍻

And… you never know… we might just have to stay an extra day or two for a little “market research”… purely in the interests of the brewery, of course! 😉

🍻NEW OPPORTUNITY🍻

The brewery_kitchen is recruiting a Chef de Partie to take over our kitchen operations

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced chef to help us bring our vision of using locally sourced and incredible British ingredients to create next level small plates, street food and everything in between!

As our current chef’s residency is coming to an end over the coming weeks we have decided to bring the food entirely in house under the watchful eye of Amy (who is so excited for a new challenge) & our great friend, chef & seasoned restauranteur Oli Wood who you will find popping up with us for the entire of the August bank holiday weekend and on other selected special dates TBC

☁️🦈 CLOUD SHARK & THIS WEEK’S GOINGS ON🦈 ☁️

We’ve just packaged our latest beer and it’s a beauty!

CLOUD SHARK is our latest War Bird inspired 6% NEIPA - we’ve wanted to do a beer celebrating the iconic shark mouth nose art for a while now and it’s been a while since we knocked out a 6% hazy, it’s sits perfectly somewhere between Wokka Wokka, Air Miles and Airway To Heaven

Big, juicy, pillowy NEIPA brewed with lashings of Riwaka, Cashmere & Cryo Pop. Mango & soft tropical fruit on the nose and big bold pink grapefruit, passion fruit and zesty citrus on the palate - it’s a cracker

Retail - in the fridge today, tap wall as soon as there’s a free line & online store from tomorrow

What’s in tank? An 8% double that hasn’t been brewed since 2022 - it was good then but it’ll be even better this time

What about the goings on this week?

brewery_kitchen has a “posh” new menu for you all to try, mussels frites are back, Terry is going hard with beef dripping & truffle this week to create a splendid new smash burger, Wokka Wokka fish, chips & mushy peas or cheesy mushroom fries! Lots to choose from… swipe for the full menu!

SATURDAY - 12 for liquid refreshment & 1pm for food truck deliciousness

🎻🥂 FIVE WEEKS TO GO 🥂🎻

Our first ever live strings evening is just five weeks away!

Alerion strings quartet will be performing Music from the Movies live in the Taproom on Thursday 3rd September

Join us as your favourite film scores are brought to life by this amazing quartet, whether you are a movie buff or just love great music, this concert will be an evening of fun and nostalgia!

If you are hungry we will have an amazing menu of Great British classic dishes re-imagined as street food by brewery_kitchen wine, champagne and of course top notch craft beer!

Tickets to enjoy this amazing live string quartet for the evening are £25 and the concert begins at 7pm

This is a ticketed event so we will be open for ticket holders only that evening

MUSIC & BEER FESTIVAL AT THE VULCAN 2026

It’s almost time! This weekend we are taking the Brew Truck on the road to the Vulcan Restoration Trust in Southend for the annual Music & Beer Festival

This year we are hosting the Craft Beer Bar & the all new Cider Bar which will have 12 different ciders with everything from cherry to Pina Colada for our fruity cider lovers to try!

What craft beers are we pouring? Met Roulette (Helles Lager), All to One End (Kolsch), Radiation Fog (hazy table pale), Wake Turbulence (Belgian Blond), Tread The Snow Twice (chocolate stout) and Wokka Wokka (hazy pale)

The music line up is amazing as always - hours of top quality music whilst you enjoy beers or ciders from us and/or the real ale bar

But best of all this is a charity event, the Vulcan Restoration Trust are raising money to restore XL426 and keep her here for everyone including the future generations to enjoy

The Music & Beer Festival at the Vulcan will be open 2pm - 10.30pm Friday 31st July and Saturday 1st August

It is a ticketed event and tickets are available from Eventbrite or the Avrovulcan . com website

Oh and a bit of impromptu music 🎶 tonight Dave & Fi are live with their drums and piano playing all sorts of feel good music from the 60’s through to 00’s

We’ve got the drinks covered, we still have Sangria, top notch craft beer, splendid wines and a range of delicious gins & we’ve even added a caramel and salt spiced rum!

From sweet, spicy & sticky flavours to crunchy pickles, kimchi & gochujang, this week’s menu is packed with Korean-inspired street food that’s made for exploring alongside a great beer

We have this beautiful Farmhouse Saison sharer by perfect for Tapas with friends (we know we tried one on Wednesday)

We have a couple of new in smoothie sours by Azvex Brewing Company which usually fly out when we have them in!

Sangria & Sangria Spritz to get into the Tapas vibes!

Onto the Sporty bits - we still have the big screen up so we will be showing

Beautiful small plates and a Mexican lager, a new peach lager & a juicy Two Flints hazy hitting the tap wall to enjoy with our Tapas menu alongside all your usual Datum faves!

Sharer bottles of BA Saison will be chilled and ready for you to enjoy with your Tapas as will the fruity Sangria and Sangria Spritz
