Here is some good news, in the midst of the present gloom. Meet Mr. Edwin and Mrs. Solfa Vargas, proud parents of a musical family, who all make music together. They recently assembled a whole carful (31) of violins, from various sources, then arranged for them all to be made playable, before shipping them off to the Phillipines. This means at least 6 weeks on a ship to Manilla before being unloaded and reloaded onto another boat bound for another island, where the pupils at a certain primary school are eagerly awaiting them. Maybe some future successful musicians will look back on this moment as a life changing one, and feel gratitude to their kind sponsors. Maybe there are also such children in your local schools, who would be equally grateful for an outgrown instrument. The Government are halving their already insufficient funding for the Arts. A little encouragement from us all would really help.
