屋根よりた〜か〜いこいの〜ぼ〜り〜♬🎏🎏🎏�Happy Children’s Day❣️🎏🥰

This year I really wanted to decorate before the London Marathon 🏃‍♀️ to wish my son Mr T the best of luck for his very first big run‼️
So as soon as I returned from Japan 🇯🇵, I did it 💪😆

This samurai kabuto helmet travelled 🛳 from Japan 🇯🇵 about 24 years ago‼️�And yes, I added a tiny koinobori 🎏 in a beer tin 😝

Children’s Day — May 5th 🎏

These koinobori (carp-shaped windsocks) are flown on May 5th in Japan to celebrate Children’s Day.�The carp symbolizes courage and ambition, inspired by a legend of a carp 🎏 that swam all the way upstream and became a dragon 🐲🐉.
Flying them represents wishes for strength, safety, and good health for children.
There are two dragons in our family! - Mr T and me‼️�I mean… we’re both Year of the Dragon 🐲🐉😆
The traditional samurai helmet called “kabuto” we display is as a symbol of strength and protection - wishing children a healthy, strong, and successful future 😊

This is my annual big TO DO - taking the dolls out of storage and welcoming them to our flat to celebrate 3rd March and the arrival of spring 🌱🌷🦋

Ever since we lived in Tokyo 🇯🇵 and moved to Brighton, I’ve been doing this every year for 28 years‼️ 😳

The Hina dolls 🎎 amazingly haven’t aged at all! I’m jealous‼️😆
They always look so innocent 😇, charming 🥰, and they make us happy❣️😊

🌱🌷 春よ来い早く来〜い 😊

Finally, my 2026 has started slowly after a hectic January! 😆

I’ll be at my next show 👘 on Sunday 1 March at Frock Me Kensington. Hope to see you there ☆

I had a wrist fracture at the start of the year 😅 and ended up having surgery last Wednesday 28th. Hand therapy + rehabilitation is pretty painful 😖 but necessary 💪… have to get ready to go back to work, play tennis 🎾, and dance flamenco 💃 again!

I’m so lucky to have my little nurse 👨‍⚕️ G-Man 😆 + family + lovely people around me 💕 BIG THANK YOU🙌🙏❣️ Also to my cheerful doctor, angel secretary & enthusiastic hand therapist too !🙏🙌

Can’t wait for Spring 🌱🌷🦋 and getting my right hand back! 😁
