A two‑day transformation.
I picked up this shirt from just a couple of days ago, and when I mentioned that I rework men’s shirts into new pieces, the team were so warm and genuinely interested in the process.
Swipe to see how it’s changed — from a classic short‑sleeved plaid shirt into a ruffled, sculptural summer top with contrast denim details. It still feels like the same shirt… just with a completely new personality.
I ended up keeping this one because the colours suit me so well, but I wanted to share the before/after (and a tiny video clip) so you can see the movement of the ruffles.
Supporting charity shops and giving garments a second life — the perfect combination.

The Beaulieu Jacket …. made from three separate pieces of vintage cotton-canvas furnishing fabric — a mid-century print called Beaulieu by Story Fabrics of London.

Originally intended for curtains, it features bold florals and ornate scrolls on a rich red ground. I’ve done my best to pattern match across seams and panels, working with the fabric’s natural layout and scale.
