What a difference a week makes... especially at this age!

This photo was taken last week at as my baby first started to move with purpose towards objects.

Just a week later and he is moving with more conviction over a much greater distance.

It’s amazing to watch.

One thing that hasn’t changed though is my love of dressing him in his trusty dungarees these short ones are perfect to allow any movement.

I find being outside really engages him as there is always something moving even if it’s just grass blowing in the wind that he wants to move closer to to explore 🌿

Our top picks on equipment for enjoying outdoor adventures with little ones...and what we have learned so far 🌿.

Planning opportunities to unwind, unplug and enjoy family time in nature is an essential part of our weekends and holidays.

With two little ones we decided to invest in preloved carriers and it has been an absolute game-changer for us! We have Stokke front/back carrier for our baby and a Vaude back pack carrier for our toddler.

Hanging near the front door they are convenient for trips to the shops or park. They are easy to pop into the boot of the car for trips away and the Vaude back pack has so many pockets I don't need a separate bag. It comes with a rain cover and changing mat, too.

With an emphasis on clothing for little adventurers we decided to source similar carriers for the Little Orme website as we believe in the value, opportunities and happiness they enable.

We took our first batch of assorted preloved carriers to Levy Market and we were blown away by the attention they received!

The look of love 💕

He could watch his big sister playing in the park all day!

Although I can’t wait for the day when he can properly join in for now I love watching him smiling and laughing 💕

I find our Little Orme baby grows, with a pair of light weight trousers, to be the perfect outfit in hot weather.

I can be confident that he is covered up from the sun and cool enough, whilst we sit in the shade!

As well as adding long sleeve T-Shirts we’ve also added two new colours to our tie dye essentials range: Vardre Green 💚 and Penrhyn Pink 💖

As they were so popular we are going to be adding them to the website later this week ✌️

He could watch his big sister playing in the park all day!

School’s out for Summer and the beach is calling...

Anyone else heading to the beach this weekend? We’re heading over to visit family in North Wales and a trip to the beach will definitely be happening 😎🏖️🍨

These little beauties, which are both Polarn O. Pyret received a lot of love last weekend at Levy Market but they were either too large or too small for the people who 💕them.

Both swimsuits are age 2-4 and £8 each with free shipping. DM us if you’d like one and we’ll pop it in the post today, you could receive it by the weekend.

When was the last time you did something new?

This weekend we took Little Orme on the road...to our first market !

It’s something that mum and I have been speaking about for what feels like forever!

It felt so good to be out there in the real world, talking to people with a shared ethos to clothing children as sustainably as possible.

Thank-you to everyone who came over to us: to have a chat, pick up a business card or buy something!

We can’t wait to get back out there ✌️💕

If you’ve been with us for a while you’ll recognise these dungarees!

They have been firm favourites at our house; probably because they are everything: soft, comfy and cheerful.

They must have been worn at least once a week for the last year and they have grown with my daughter as she took her first steps to becoming a keen and confident runner and jumper. She wore them on her return to nursery after her hospitalisation and recovery, but mostly they have been there day-in-day-out as she grows into the most wonderful little person 💕

Sadly, due to her most recent growth spurt, it’s time for them to be retired and passed on.

I am so happy to be passing them down to my cousin’s little one. Not least because I have joyful memories of bags full of handmedowns from her and her brother for me and my siblings.

For me, keeping up the family tradition of sharing the things you love, with the ones you love keeps the family close.

The dungarees are heading your way, Katie, I hope she loves them 💕

Baby equipment we find the most helpful, and what we’ve learned so far...

We are incredibly fortunate to have had the use of this gorgeous, rattan, family heirloom moses basket. It was bought by my grandmother when she lived in Singapore, over 60 years ago!

It was so convenient to be able to move it around the house and have it next to the bed, especially in the early weeks and months.

However, because my second was almost 10lbs when he was born, he didn't fit in it for very long! 🙈

If I were to pick my all-time essential piece of equipment it would have to be my baby carrier and back pack. Both were bought preloved and have been in almost daily use. I wouldn't be without them, especially on our weekend adventures.

What fires your motivation, during motherhood, or more specifically, maternity leave which is where I am visiting for the second time...

During my first maternity leave I found the shift from work to motherhood a shock to the system! It was the lack of structure to my day and often the feeling of not hitting any ‘goals’ during the day. At first I found it unsettling, what has your experience been so far?

This maternity leave I have found fulfillment in personal goals of walking 10,000 steps a day and starting up Little Orme.

I have discovered they offer me the space to feel ‘productive’ which, in turn, enable peace and patience when doing the arguably, more important tasks of feeding, comforting and just being with my babies as they grow 💕
