๐Ÿฅƒ Fielden Rye Whisky โ€“ Whisky of England

A whisky that puts grain front and centre. Fielden is helping redefine what English whisky can be, using heritage grains and regenerative farming practices to create a spirit that's as much about the field as it is the cask.

๐ŸŒพ Interesting Fact:
Most modern whisky is made using a small number of high-yield grain varieties. Fielden takes a different approach, working with heritage grains and regenerative agriculture methods that help improve soil health, biodiversity and flavour. Their philosophy is simple: better farming can create better whisky.

๐Ÿ‘ƒ Tasting Notes:
Nose: Fresh rye bread, honey, orange peel and baking spices.
Palate: Rich cereal notes, caramelised brown sugar, cracked black pepper, toasted nuts and hints of dried fruit.
Finish: Warming and spicy with lingering rye character, gentle oak and a touch of dark honey.

This is a rye whisky with plenty of personalityโ€”spicy enough to keep rye fans interested, while remaining approachable for those exploring the category for the first time.

๐Ÿฅƒ A Whisky Fit for a King?

Created to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III on 6th May 2023, this special release from The English Distillery celebrates a historic moment with an English single malt that proudly showcases the growing reputation of English whisky.

๐Ÿ‘‘ Interesting Fact:
King Charles III has long been a supporter of British agriculture and sustainability. English whisky production has grown rapidly in recent years, with England now home to more than 50 whisky distilleries, making it one of the fastest-growing whisky-producing regions in the world.

๐Ÿ‘ƒ Tasting Notes:
Nose: Honeyed malt, orchard fruits, vanilla custard and delicate floral notes.
Palate: Sweet barley, toffee, baked apple and soft oak spice, balanced by gentle citrus and creamy vanilla.
Finish: Medium-length with lingering malt sweetness, light pepper and hints of dried fruit.

This is more than just a commemorative bottlingโ€”it's a snapshot of a historic day and a reminder of how far English whisky has come in a relatively short space of time.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Conversation Starter:
If you could keep just one bottle in your collection:

๐Ÿ‘‘ A commemorative release linked to a historic event
OR
๐Ÿฅƒ A standard bottling with exceptional flavour

Which would you choose, and do special editions make a whisky more appealing to you?

๐Ÿฅƒ Springbank Society 5 Year Old 100 Proof

Proof that age isn't everything. This Springbank Society release delivers all the character, complexity and coastal charm that has made Campbeltown's most famous distillery one of the most sought-after names in whisky.

๐Ÿง  Interesting Fact:
The term "100 Proof" originates from an old method used by the British Navy. Sailors would test spirits by soaking gunpowder in them and attempting to ignite it. If the gunpowder still burned, the spirit was considered "proof" of sufficient strength. Today's 100 Proof standard is different, but the name remains one of whisky's most recognisable indicators of a robust dram.

๐Ÿ‘ƒ Tasting Notes:
Nose: Coastal sea breeze, lemon zest, vanilla fudge, green apples and a subtle mineral note.
Palate: Sweet malt, honeycomb, citrus oils, salted caramel and gentle oak spice, with Springbank's signature maritime character running throughout.
Finish: Long and warming with lingering pepper, malted barley, sea salt and soft vanilla.

At just 5 years old, this whisky demonstrates how spirit quality and careful maturation can create remarkable depth without decades in the cask.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Conversation Starter:
Would you rather have:

๐Ÿฅƒ A beautifully crafted 5-year-old whisky bottled at high strength
OR
๐Ÿฅƒ An average 18-year-old whisky bottled at standard strength?

And where does Springbank rank in your all-time favourite distilleries?

๐Ÿฅƒ Compass Box Flaming Heart โ€“ Limited Edition Blended Malt

Few whiskies have achieved cult status quite like Flaming Heart. Bold, smoky and unapologetically flavour-driven, this is Compass Box at its creative best.

๐Ÿง  Interesting Fact:
The first release of Flaming Heart appeared in 2006 and was inspired by the artwork of a Spanish artist. Since then, each edition has featured a unique recipe, with Compass Box continually adjusting the balance between peat, oak influence and rich fruity malts. No two releases are exactly the same, making each bottling highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.

๐Ÿ‘ƒ Tasting Notes:
Nose: Campfire smoke, charred oak, orange peel, dark honey and warming spices.
Palate: Rich layers of peat smoke, toasted vanilla, dark chocolate, clove and dried fruits, all wrapped in a silky texture.
Finish: Long, smoky and complex with lingering spice, oak embers and a touch of sweetness.

Flaming Heart is a whisky that perfectly demonstrates how smoke doesn't have to dominateโ€”it can complement and elevate every other flavour in the glass.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Conversation Starter:
What's your ideal level of peat?

๐Ÿ”ฅ Lightly smoky
๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ Balanced peat and sweetness
๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ Full-on peat monster

๐Ÿฅƒ Springbank 18 Year Old โ€“ Campbeltown Single Malt

Few distilleries command the respect that Springbank does. Family-owned, traditionally produced, and fiercely independent, every bottle represents a piece of Campbeltown's whisky heritage.

๐Ÿง  Interesting Fact:
Springbank is one of the only distilleries in Scotland to carry out 100% of the whisky-making process on-site, from malting a portion of its barley through to bottling. In an industry where many stages are often outsourced, Springbank remains remarkably traditional.

๐Ÿ‘ƒ Tasting Notes:
Nose: Dark fruits, polished oak, dried figs, toffee and subtle maritime notes.
Palate: Rich layers of sherry-soaked raisins, orange peel, dark chocolate, walnuts and warming spice.
Finish: Long, complex and beautifully balanced with oak, leather, gentle smoke and lingering sweetness.

At 18 years old, this is a whisky that showcases how Springbank's distinctive coastal character evolves with extended maturation, delivering both elegance and depth in equal measure.

๐Ÿฅƒ Oxford Rye Whisky โ€“ Heritage Grains

This isn't just a whiskyโ€”it's a liquid snapshot of English agriculture, heritage grains and a different approach to whisky-making.

Produced by the Oxford Artisan Distillery, this rye whisky is made using ancient and heritage grain varieties grown with a focus on biodiversity and sustainable farming, giving it a character that's distinctly English.

๐Ÿง  Interesting Fact:
Most modern grain crops have been selectively bred for yield, but Oxford Artisan Distillery works with heritage grain varieties that can trace their origins back centuries. These older strains often produce lower yields but can deliver unique flavours that many distillers believe are lost in modern agriculture.

๐Ÿ‘ƒ Tasting Notes:
Nose: Spiced honey, orange peel, rye bread and vanilla.
Palate: Rich baking spices, caramel, dried fruits and cracked black pepper, balanced by a malty sweetness.
Finish: Long and warming with oak spice, dark toffee and lingering rye complexity.

Rye whisky is known for its bold, spicy profile, but this English interpretation adds a layer of elegance and depth that's hard to ignore.

๐Ÿธ LiquorSmiths Old Tom 6 Gin

Old Tom Gin is often described as the missing link between Dutch Genever and the dry London Gins we know today. Slightly sweeter, wonderfully rounded, and packed with character, it's a style that is making a well-deserved comeback.

๐Ÿง  Interesting Fact:
The name "Old Tom" dates back to 18th-century England, when gin was sometimes sold through wooden plaques shaped like black cats ("Old Toms") mounted on pub walls. Customers would drop a coin in a slot and receive a measure of gin through a hidden pipe.

๐Ÿ‘ƒ Tasting Notes:
Nose: Fresh juniper, citrus peel, floral botanicals and a touch of sweetness.
Palate: Smooth and rounded with bright juniper, orange zest, subtle spice and soft honeyed notes.
Finish: Long, balanced and gently sweet with lingering botanical freshness.

Old Tom Gin is a fantastic choice for classic cocktails such as the Tom Collins or Martinez, where its slightly sweeter profile can really shine.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Conversation Starter:

๐Ÿฅƒ The Beachcomber Blended Malt Scotch Whisky ๐ŸŒŠ

Some whiskies are made for deep contemplation. Others are made for good company, sea air and stories shared long after sunset. The Beachcomber sits firmly in the second camp.

๐Ÿง  Interesting Fact:
Blended malt whisky is made entirely from single malts sourced from different distilleries, with no grain whisky included. This style allows whisky makers to combine the distinctive character of different regions into one harmonious dram. In The Beachcomber's case, Campbeltown and Highland malts come together to create something greater than the sum of its parts.

๐Ÿ‘ƒ Tasting Notes:
Nose: Honeycomb, lemon zest, vanilla cream and gentle coastal notes.
Palate: Sweet malt, ripe orchard fruits, salted caramel and soft oak spice.
Finish: Long and warming with hints of citrus peel, maritime freshness and lingering sweetness.

At 50% ABV, this is a whisky with plenty of character, yet remains approachable and rewarding with or without a drop of water.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Conversation Starter:
If you could enjoy a dram of The Beachcomber anywhere, where would it be?

๐Ÿฅƒ Fortnum & Mason English Single Malt Whisky ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

A meeting of two great English names โ€” Fortnum & Mason and Cotswolds Distillery. This exclusive single cask release showcases just how far English whisky has come in a remarkably short space of time.

๐Ÿง  Interesting Fact:
Fortnum & Mason has been supplying fine food and drink since 1707, making it one of Britain's most iconic luxury retailers. While whisky is often associated with Scotland, England's modern whisky revival has seen distilleries like Cotswolds win international awards and challenge perceptions of what English whisky can be.

๐Ÿ‘ƒ Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich honey, dried apricots, golden syrup and vanilla fudge.
Palate: Caramelised orchard fruits, malted biscuits, orange marmalade and warming oak spice.
Finish: Long and elegant with notes of toffee, raisins and gentle baking spices.

Being a single cask release, every bottle captures the character of one individual cask, meaning no two casks will ever be exactly the same.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Conversation Starter:
If you had the choice, would you rather own:

๐Ÿฅƒ A rare single cask bottle with unique character
๐Ÿฅƒ A famous distillery's flagship release
๐Ÿฅƒ An older age-statement whisky

๐Ÿฅƒ Dartmoor Whisky Bourbon Cask Matured Single Malt

England's whisky scene continues to grow, and Dartmoor Whisky is one of the distilleries helping to put English single malt firmly on the map.

๐Ÿง  Interesting Fact:
Dartmoor Whisky is produced in the heart of Devon, drawing inspiration from the rugged landscape of Dartmoor National Park. English whisky may be a relatively young category compared to Scotch, but it is currently one of the fastest-growing whisky sectors in the world.

๐Ÿ‘ƒ Tasting Notes:
Nose: Honey, vanilla pod, orchard fruits and freshly baked shortbread.
Palate: Creamy caramel, malted barley, ripe pear and gentle oak spice.
Finish: Smooth and warming with lingering vanilla, toasted almonds and sweet cereal notes.

Bourbon cask maturation often allows the spirit character to shine through, making it a great way to explore what a distillery's house style is really all about.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Conversation Starter:
