Around this time last year, we unveiled our Oasis-inspired mosaic in collaboration with our friends at Definitely Maybe Afflecks Manchester , Clint Boon from the Inspiral Carpets, and the legendary Mark Kennedy ⚡️

Created to celebrate Manchester, music and one of the city's most iconic bands, the mural quickly became a favourite photo spot for fans visiting Afflecks during the Oasis reunion.

Scientist, mathematician and codebreaker Alan Turing (1912–1954) is recognised as one of Britain's greatest minds. During WWII, his work deciphering the Enigma Code played a crucial role in the Allied war effort and helped shape the future of computing, artificial intelligence and computer science.

Created by Afflecks resident artist Baiba Auria in 2020, this portrait celebrates Turing's remarkable legacy during LGBTQ+ History Month 2026. Despite his extraordinary contributions, Turing was persecuted because of his sexuality and prosecuted under laws that have since been recognised as unjust.

Calling out to all Star Wars fans, the Palace Cantina opened its doors on our 3rd floor, bringing a galaxy of delicious street food bites to the building 😎

This family-run business serves up comforting faves like toasties, loaded nachos, burritos and more, with plenty of vegan options available too 🌝

So, whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite between browsing the traders or settling in for a proper refuel after exploring our rebel base, there’s something on the menu for everyone in the galaxy🕺

If you’re an Afflecks regular, you may have noticed that our lovely Frank Sidebottom was been missing from the corridors for a little while 😞

Sadly, towards the end of last year, Frank was damaged by some visitors and had to undergo a little emergency surgery with the help of a talented local artist Evu Makes ❤️‍🩹

Thankfully, he’s now fully recovered and back where he belongs … watching over the Church St staircase once again 🙏

To celebrate his return, our team members Georgie and Rowan decided to decorate Frank’s corner with lyrics from his song Electricity!! We felt it perfectly captured the spirit of Afflecks and was the ideal way to honour a true Manchester icon 🖤

Pop in and say hello to Frank when you’re next passing through 🌝

(And please don’t try to break him again … it’s not funny, clever, or cool. Cheers 🫶)
